What makes your product unique?

fromT.app's answer

fromT previews the fonts already installed on your computer — not a webfont library. It uses the browser's Local Font Access API, so fonts never leave your machine: no uploads, no accounts, nothing to install. You type your project text once and see your entire font collection render it at once, then filter, shortlist, compare, and export the result as a PDF/SVG board or straight into Figma. It is also one of the few font preview tools with first-class Cyrillic support, including a dedicated Cyrillic filter.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Font managers like FontBase or RightFont are desktop apps built around organizing a library. fromT is built around one job: choosing the right font for a specific text. Compared to wordmark.it, fromT adds style/script filters, a favorites shortlist, side-by-side compare, PDF and SVG export for client presentations, and a Figma plugin that applies the shortlist to real text layers. And it's free, with no sign-up.

Brand, graphic and type designers choosing a typeface for a logo, wordmark or headline; freelancers preparing font options for clients; and anyone with a large local font collection who wants to see it rendered with their own text. Especially useful for designers working with Cyrillic.

What's the story behind your product?

fromT.app's answer

fromT started as a designer's frustration: every "font preview" tool online only showed its own webfonts, while the hundreds of fonts already installed locally were invisible to the browser. The Local Font Access API changed that. fromT was built as an indie project to make picking a font from your own collection as fast as typing the text once — and to keep the whole process private, since fonts never leave the machine.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Next.js (React, TypeScript), the Local Font Access API, client-side PDF and SVG generation, and a companion Figma plugin. Everything runs in the browser — there is no backend processing of your fonts.

fromT is a free tool for individual designers and studios; it has no accounts by design, so we don't track or publish customer names.
