Don't do bootcamp. Start with something like https://freecodecamp.org and take a few lessons. Try to build something from that and see how motivated you are. If you see some progress and this thing still excites you, then may be find an engineer (a friend/co worker etc) who can guide you a bit as you continue to build something. Open source is rarely free as in free beer. Many have a non-commercial use clause GPL-like licenses, Patent liabilities, and if you are a business you pay per seat for the current compiled binary install/support. The fact is, if people really want to pirate work... There is no way to capture every user sale. Also, I didn't see it mentioned, but if it's environments that you are mostly after, one possible solution is to use HDRIs for the background. Obviously those are more limiting than a proper 3D environment but might be good if you are just doing static, one-off shots. As for rule 2 compliance, you may recall from the last post, I textured the duck with an image from unsplash. I used a terrain texture from polyhaven.com (was texturehaven.com back when I downloaded it.) I honestly cannot remember which tool I got the heightmap from, it was so long ago.
