Don't do bootcamp. Start with something like https://freecodecamp.org and take a few lessons. Try to build something from that and see how motivated you are. If you see some progress and this thing still excites you, then may be find an engineer (a friend/co worker etc) who can guide you a bit as you continue to build something. It took us a few months (I think it was 4) but now we released Macarons. After adding Macarons to the workspace you have to invite it to a channel and then can configure how often people of that channel are matched. Additionally you can specify how big the match groups should be and everyone participating can adjust their participation rate. That's basically it.
