The thing that I personally like about Evernote is that before I have used word as my note taking application, than on my smartphone I have had used Google Keep and so my notes were just unorganized mess. But with Evernote now I can have my notes at one place and unified. Also the fact that I can log to another device and my notes are "just there" is really nice. And also I like graphics user interface of Evernote.

Obsidian is a multi-platform note-taking and writing app. Simple enough. But aren't there plenty of those around? Yes absolutely, but they each have downsides that I wasn't able to settle with long-term. With Google Cloud it was the difficult of linking between notes (this has improved since but it's still not quite what I want). For PHP https://platform.sh has got a lot of traction, but it's notc cheap especially for small apps. You may create/purchase a server from DigitalOcean/Linode/Vultr depending on your disk space utilization and install a control panel such as Cloudstick.io runcloud.io or serverpilot.io - the way I recommended would not increase your bill anymore. Source: over 5 years ago
Cpanel and Plesk are traditional control panels and Cpanel holds a major market share in hosting. For Cpanel, you may require CentOS and CentOS is in its final days.
