The thing that I personally like about Evernote is that before I have used word as my note taking application, than on my smartphone I have had used Google Keep and so my notes were just unorganized mess. But with Evernote now I can have my notes at one place and unified. Also the fact that I can log to another device and my notes are "just there" is really nice. And also I like graphics user interface of Evernote.

Obsidian is a multi-platform note-taking and writing app. Simple enough. But aren't there plenty of those around? Yes absolutely, but they each have downsides that I wasn't able to settle with long-term. With Google Cloud it was the difficult of linking between notes (this has improved since but it's still not quite what I want). I switch in 2014 and never went back. The learning curve is something you need to be aware of and also the fact you need to buy other apps as well. For example I have these apps accompanying my Affinity suite: Hype4, Pixelmator and Art Text plus a free app that is a Figma alternative called Penpot. Why? I keep hoping that weโll be able to package Flash-grade animations as WASM and send them out as a single file (or as two files, one for a Haxe-like runtime and another for the game or animation). But since there is no real standard authoring tool (and nobody mentions those, or the ease of use the Flash โIDEโ had) I donโt have much hope.
