Domain Watchdog is domain-health monitoring built for agencies and MSPs. Registrars email renewal notices to your client's inbox, not yours — so a silently expired domain (or a lapsed TLS cert, or a broken DMARC record) takes a client site dark and you take the blame.

Domain Watchdog watches every domain you manage, across every registrar, from one dashboard — and grades each one A–F on 14 automated checks:

  • Expiry — daily RDAP reads of the authoritative registry record, with escalating alerts at 60 / 30 / 14 / 7 / 1 days and the moment a domain lapses
  • Certificates & TLS — expiry + configuration posture
  • DNS — nameservers and DNSSEC
  • Email auth — SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX
  • Web security — HTTPS enforcement, HSTS, redirect chains, subdomain-takeover
  • Indexability — robots / sitemap
  • Reputation — IP blocklist checks
  • Brand watch — typosquat / lookalike-domain detection

Built for fleets: per-client white-label branding, branded monthly PDF reports, client groups, and alert routing to email, Slack, Teams, webhooks, or a PSA ticket (ConnectWise; Autotask on the roadmap). No scraping, no per-registrar logins — one list for every client.

Pricing: Starter $99/mo (100 domains) · Core MSP $249/mo (500) · Enterprise $499/mo (2,000). 14-day free trial. Plus a free, no-signup single-domain checker at domainwatchdog.app.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Domain Watchdog and Vim Python IDE.

What makes your product unique?

Domain Watchdog's answer

It reads each domain's expiry straight from the registry's official RDAP record — the structured, machine-readable successor to WHOIS — so the date is authoritative, not scraped or guessed. And it alerts you, the agency or MSP, across every client and every registrar in one place. That's the core insight: registrars send the renewal reminder to the domain owner's inbox (your client), which is exactly why domains silently lapse on your watch. Domain Watchdog is the reminder that actually reaches the person responsible — escalating warnings at 60, 30, 14, 7, and 1 day out, plus an alert the moment one expires. The same watch extends to TLS certificates, DNS/DNSSEC, email authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) and web security — every domain graded A–F.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Domain Watchdog's answer

Registrar reminders only cover their own domains and only notify the owner. Uptime/SSL monitors tell you a site is already down — too late to renew. Domain Watchdog is purpose-built for the agency or MSP managing many clients' domains across many registrars: one list, daily RDAP-verified checks, and escalating alerts that reach you before anything lapses — backed by a full A–F health grade (TLS, DNS, email auth, web security) and white-label reports you can hand straight to clients. Paste your domains once; the alerts come to you — no per-registrar logins, no spreadsheet. From $99/mo for 100 domains (Core MSP 500, Enterprise 2,000).

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Domain Watchdog's answer

MSPs, web agencies, freelancers, and design/dev studios that manage domains on behalf of clients — the people who look responsible (and lose the site) when a client's domain quietly expires, even though the renewal was never theirs. Also small in-house teams juggling a portfolio of domains spread across multiple registrars.

What's the story behind your product?

Domain Watchdog's answer

It was built around a painfully common failure mode: an agency loses a client's site because the domain expired — the registrar's reminder went to the client (whose payment card had since expired), and the agency only found out when the site went dark and the client called. Registrars remind the owner; nobody reminds the agency. Domain Watchdog exists to be the watchdog that does — watching every client domain, across every registrar, and warning the agency or MSP before it's too late.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Domain Watchdog's answer

  • Next.js (React) + TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Prisma ORM + PostgreSQL
  • AWS — App Runner (hosting), RDS, SES (email alerts)
  • Stripe (billing)
  • The IANA RDAP protocol for authoritative registry expiry data

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Domain Watchdog's answer

  • MSPs and web agencies managing client domain portfolios
  • Freelance developers and design studios
  • Small teams tracking domains across multiple registrars
