Upload a video, choose a new aspect ratio, and let AI generate the missing edges around the original clip. VideoExpander helps you turn vertical videos into landscape, landscape videos into vertical, square clips into widescreen, and other formats without cropping the subject, adding blur borders, or leaving black bars.
It is built for creators, marketers, editors, and AI video users who need to adapt videos for different platforms and screens, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, websites, ads, presentations, and social media campaigns.
Key use cases include:
VideoExpander includes a free tier for testing AI video expansion on short clips. VideoExpander Pro unlocks higher-quality generation options and advanced multi-shot workflows for longer or more complex videos.

VideoExpanderVideoExpander's answer:
VideoExpander focuses specifically on AI video expansion: outpainting and uncropping videos into new aspect ratios without cropping, blur borders, or black bars.
Instead of being a full general-purpose video editor, VideoExpander is built around one clear workflow: upload a video, choose a target aspect ratio, and generate the missing edges around the original clip with AI. This makes it useful for creators who need to adapt videos for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, websites, ads, presentations, and other screen formats.
VideoExpander's answer:
A person should choose VideoExpander if they want to expand the actual video frame rather than crop the video, stretch it, add blur borders, or leave black bars.
Many video editing tools can resize or reformat a video, but they usually rely on cropping, padding, or background blur. VideoExpander uses AI video outpainting to generate new visual content around the original clip, making it better suited for changing aspect ratio while keeping the original subject visible.
VideoExpander also includes a free tier for testing the workflow, with Pro features for higher-quality results and advanced multi-shot video outpainting.
VideoExpander's answer:
VideoExpander is built for creators, marketers, video editors, AI video users, and businesses that need to adapt videos for different platforms and screen formats.
The primary audience includes people who create videos for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, websites, ads, product demos, presentations, and social media campaigns. It is especially useful for users who have a video in the wrong aspect ratio and want to expand it naturally without cropping important content.
VideoExpander's answer:
VideoExpander was created after seeing a common problem with AI-generated and creator-made videos: the video often looks good, but the aspect ratio is wrong for the platform where it needs to be used.
Traditional resizing tools usually crop the video, add blurred backgrounds, or leave black bars. VideoExpander was built to solve this more directly by using AI video outpainting to generate the missing edges around the original clip.
The goal is to make video aspect-ratio conversion feel simple: upload a video, choose the format you need, and expand the frame with AI.
VideoExpander's answer:
VideoExpander is built around advanced AI video outpainting technology we developed to expand moving video frames beyond their original boundaries.
The system combines video analysis, aspect-ratio transformation, generative edge expansion, and shot-aware workflow logic to create missing visual content around the original clip. Instead of simply resizing, cropping, or adding a blurred background, VideoExpander is designed to produce a more natural expanded frame for creators who need videos in new formats.
Coming from a video editing background, Descript might take some getting used to. But once you figure it out, it speeds up your editing (especially interviews/long-form voiceover). The captions are very nice to work with, but a bit limited in terms of styles. There are a lot more caption styles, transitions, and effects in CapCut, but Descript excels in simplicity and speed.
The saved layouts (you can make your own) are very good if you want to create a bunch of videos on different topics with the same design scheme or branding.
Based on our record, Descript seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 12 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
For transcripts, I use Descript. Descript is able to identify all four of our panel members, and I usually spend an hour or so cleaning it up and setting the transcript into a video for YouTube. Source: about 3 years ago
