Descript Reviews

Very useful for editing scripts/interview videos.

Coming from a video editing background, Descript might take some getting used to. But once you figure it out, it speeds up your editing (especially interviews/long-form voiceover). The captions are very nice to work with, but a bit limited in terms of styles. There are a lot more caption styles, transitions, and effects in CapCut, but Descript excels in simplicity and speed.

The saved layouts (you can make your own) are very good if you want to create a bunch of videos on different topics with the same design scheme or branding.

  • Linux from the developer's perspective. Part 4 - strace and pmap
After programming and compilation, you get a binary program image, which you can also analyse. Analysis at both source code and binary image stages is called static analysis. • Why does Debian change software?
Hello, as always: imho (!) I remember this incident - if my memory doesn't trick me: it was openssl which accessed memory it didn't allocated to collect randomness / entropy for key-generation. Odin has a builtin heap allocator that works the same way you would expect any other high-level language to do memory allocationโ€“it's just that you have to free the memory yourself. Plus, Odin's built in `context` system makes it really easy to change what kind of allocator is used for different sections of code. For my use cases, I've never needed any more than a heap and an arena, detailed in this talk:... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
