Coming from a video editing background, Descript might take some getting used to. But once you figure it out, it speeds up your editing (especially interviews/long-form voiceover). The captions are very nice to work...

I tried to use descript.com but found out that they didn't have a download for Linux and that their online version doesn't allow you to edit your transcript. Source: almost 4 years ago
I've also seen: https://github.com/react-everywhere/re-start which is being used over at r/jellyfin. Problem is, it doesn't have the backing of a major company, and I can't risk my project just having support dropped out of nowhere. Source: over 5 years ago
