  • Regular updates and content
The developers frequently release updates and new content, ensuring the game evolves and providing new experiences for players.
  • Emphasis on realism
The gameโ€™s focus on realistic scenarios, like looting in a post-apocalyptic setting and the need for tactical thinking, appeals to fans of the survival genre.

Possible disadvantages of DayZ

  • Steep learning curve
New players may find the game's mechanics and survival strategies challenging to learn, resulting in a potentially frustrating initial experience.
  • Performance issues
DayZ has been known to suffer from performance problems, including bugs and frame rate drops, which can detract from the gaming experience.
  • Limited storyline
The game lacks a structured narrative or clear objectives, which might be a downside for those who prefer story-driven games.
  • Player toxicity
The open nature of player interactions can lead to toxic behavior, as hostile players can dominate and disrupt the experience for others.
  • Resource-intensive
DayZ can be demanding on hardware requirements, which means that players with lower-end systems might struggle to run the game smoothly.

  • Initial Setup Complexity
The initial setup and configuration can be complex and time-consuming, particularly for those less experienced with server management.
  • Limited Third-Party Integrations
As compared to some other backend-as-a-service (BaaS) platforms, AppWrite has fewer pre-built third-party integrations, which might limit its extensibility.
  • Newer and Evolving
AppWrite is relatively new and still evolving, which can mean fewer features compared to more mature platforms and the potential for more bugs.
  • Maintenance Responsibility
Since it is self-hosted, the responsibility for server maintenance, updates, and security falls solely on the user, which can be a drawback for smaller teams or solo developers.

Rust originally started out as a DayZ clone, and although it evolved to become so much more than that, fans will still undeniably enjoy experiencing the game that inspired Rust. 10 Games Like Rust You Should Play
Bohemiaโ€™s DayZ actually provided a lot of inspiration for Facepunch, the developers of Rust, in the gameโ€™s earliest days โ€” not many people remember the zombies in Rust, and even fewer people will say they genuinely miss them. DayZ spawned a lot of clones, but it can be argued that none of them do it quite as well โ€” when the game isnโ€™t being temperamental and janky, of course.

AppWrite Reviews

  1. Appwrite is awesome, free and open-source!

I've use it instead of Firebase on a 15$ DigitalOcean droplet and saved around ~$150 a month. Managing my own infra does take some extra time, but definitely worth it. The APIs and SDK are also surprisingly much easier to consume than Firebase. Waiting for the cloud version.
