Cursor is recommended for small to medium-sized businesses looking for an efficient customer relationship management (CRM) solution. It's ideal for teams that need an integrated system to manage customer interactions, support operations, and sales tracking.
Amara is particularly recommended for educators, media professionals, content creators, and organizations focused on accessibility. It's also suitable for anyone who needs to localize their content or reach a wider audience through multilingual subtitles.
Cursor might be a bit more popular than Amara. We know about 9 links to it since March 2021 and only 7 links to Amara. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
Cursor has spent the past week in headlines after confirming a partnership with SpaceX that could eventually lead to a $60 billion acquisition. The deal, for now, centres on training more capable coding models using SpaceXโs compute infrastructure. - Source: dev.to / 2 days ago
The step up from there is an editor with a built-in agent like Cursor, Google Antigravity, Windsurf, or VS Code with a coding extension. These are code editors with an AI agent living inside them, and the difference is the responsible party for getting things from place to place. Instead of the software creator shuttling code between windows, the AI agent edits the project files directly and runs the GitHub and... - Source: dev.to / 14 days ago
Where llms.txt genuinely gets read is a different layer: coding and agent tooling โ Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf โ pulling a documentation site's pages with less token waste, plus emerging agent protocols like OpenAI's Agents SDK. That's real, and it's growing fast. - Source: dev.to / 14 days ago
If you donโt believe me, go to Google AI Studio, get you an API key, create a project, then open Cursor, add the key, add whatever model they have available to use, run a task and you will see how models like Gemini 3.5 or 2.5 Flash which gives you 5 Requests Per Minute and 20 Requests Per Day will scream at you with hitting a limit rate. - Source: dev.to / 21 days ago

Man, just happened the same to me. I was transcribing some clases using the large model and theres a point in the video that the teacher gets a 5 minute break, and what happens? I get the following (https://imgur.com/a/8HQdpng). It is in spanish but says, brought by amara.org, which is a web that subtitltles things and then a lot of ads. Source: over 3 years ago
Https://amara.org/ ? You just link your video, and volunteers can/will translate it to whatever language you want. Source: over 3 years ago
You could use amara.org for a free and opensource web-based translation tool. Source: over 3 years ago
The best thing is Amara, and is in fact what Google shunted in place when they removed community captioning, giving creators a whole 3 months (or something similarly piddly) of one of their paid services for free. It's not an equivalent experience though, as folks have to go elsewhere AND know a volunteer-captioned video exists in the first place. Separate but equal is not equal. Source: over 3 years ago
