  Probably need to do it outside of retroarch. Use clrmamepro https://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/. It is a bit cryptic but does the job. There is a guide on the retroarch site about how to use it. Source: over 3 years ago

  You can use CLRMAMEPRO to scan your current ROMs and re-build them to target whatever version of MAME you want. Source: over 3 years ago

  I use ClrMamePro to do the audit, and dat files from Progetto Snaps, which are kept up to dates on a regular basis. You can also download any updates/new files from there as well. Awesome resource. Source: over 3 years ago
