About 4 months ago (approximately the last time I wrote something here), I opted to embark on a graduate school journey at Stony Brook University, Computer Science (if you have a remote position โ Technical Writer and/or Software Engineer position โ at a non-USA company, don't hesitate to reach out). Was it the best decision to make considering less pay (if any), more theoretical undertakings and assumptions, and... - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
Full of wrong and/or incomplete information. I prefer cplusplus.com when I need to look up some library details. Source: about 3 years ago
For C++ I would suggest using cplusplus.com. Fantastic resource to use. Source: about 3 years ago
C++ was far from my first language. I took Modula-2 and FORTRAN in school. I knew about pointers, linked lists, etc before writing my first line of C++. I think the best way to learn is just to work on projects that interest you. Get familiar with online resources. I like cplusplus.com and cppreference.com (can get a little verbose). I'm also a big fan of w3schools.com. They have a good C++ tutorial for beginners. Source: about 3 years ago
I second this. cplusplus.com will pop up on your searches, I just blocked it. Loaded with ads and slow, and almost always less thorough than cppreference. I found geeksforgeeks OK when learning algorithms - not so much the language itself though. Source: about 3 years ago
AI-likeness is the target, and it's the one judge that has to live in code, because it isn't an LLM. You score the reply with GPTZero, an AI detector. The score is 1 - P(human): near 0 when GPTZero reads the reply as human, which is your goal, and near 1 for AI or mixed text. Lower is better, so the bootstrap marks the judge inverted and the optimizer drives the score down. - Source: dev.to / 3 days ago
Obvious AI tells abound in the text and in the GitHub repo, which is clearly 100% vibe coded. If you cannot see this, then I don't know what to tell you. Actually, I do. GPTZero - Commercial AI detection service with free tier. - Source: dev.to / 7 months ago
Was curious, so I tried it in several different AI detectors to see what they returned. Most seemed to believe it was approximately 2/3 AI generated text. Primarily the first several paragraphs. Last, and second to last scored the best as "human". ZeroGPT said it was only 5% likely AI written. Couple sentences. Not sure if that means its actually AI written, cause there's lots of argument about false... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
For the benefit of external observers, you can stick the comment into either https://gptzero.me/ or https://copyleaks.com/ai-content-detector - neither are perfectly reliable, but the comment stuck out to me as obviously LLM-generated (I see a lot of LLM-generated content in my day job), and false positives from these services are actually kinda rare (false negatives much more common). But if you want to get a... - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
