GeekLink AI Subtitle Factory is a batch subtitle production line for macOS. Most subtitle tools process one video at a time. GeekLink processes all of them at once โ€” speech recognition, OCR extraction, translation, editing, and export โ€” in a single continuous pipeline. Import 2 videos or 200. Configure once. Click Run. Walk away.

Features: - Batch-first workflow: import your entire video library at once and process all videos with one progress bar. - AI speech recognition: built-in multilingual engine supporting 14 languages, with real-time subtitle preview and ETA display. - OCR subtitle extraction: extract hardcode subtitle. - Multi-engine translation: DeepSeek AI, Claude, or any OpenAI-compatible API. Custom prompts and terminology glossary to protect proper nouns. - Full subtitle editor: search, merge, split, millisecond-precision time editing, and per-segment re-recognition. - Two export modes: toggleable subtitles (SRT/TXT) or burned-in subtitles directly into video files. - Watch Folder automation: drop videos into a monitored folder and subtitles are generated automatically. - 100% local and private: videos never leave your Mac. No cloud uploads, no per-minute fees. - Optimized for Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4).

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Buffer and GeekLink.dev.

What makes your product unique?

GeekLink.dev's answer:

GeekLink is a batch-first subtitle factory โ€” not a single-video editor. Most subtitle tools process one video at a time. GeekLink lets you import dozens or hundreds of videos at once and run them through a complete pipeline (speech recognition, OCR extraction, AI translation, subtitle styling, and export) in a single continuous workflow. Everything runs 100% locally on your Mac โ€” your videos never leave your device.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

GeekLink.dev's answer:

Three reasons: batch scale, local privacy, and all-in-one workflow. Competitors either process one video at a time (CapCut, Subtitle Edit), require cloud uploads (Veed, Kapwing), or only handle one step like transcription without translation and burn-in. GeekLink combines speech-to-text, OCR, AI translation (13+ languages), a style editor, and video export into one app โ€” no subscriptions, no per-minute fees, no data leaving your machine. Import 50 videos, configure once, click Run.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

GeekLink.dev's answer:

Content creators who work with video at scale: YouTube creators localizing their channels into multiple languages, short drama studios translating 50-80 episodes for international distribution, educators adding subtitles to course libraries, and media companies processing large video catalogs. Anyone who needs subtitles on more than a handful of videos and doesn't want to pay per minute or upload to the cloud.

What's the story behind your product?

GeekLink.dev's answer:

GeekLink started from a personal frustration: translating video content across languages was painfully slow and expensive. Every tool on the market made you process one video at a time, upload to someone else's cloud, or pay per minute. I built GeekLink to solve this for myself first โ€” a local app that could chew through an entire video library in one sitting. The "Subtitle Factory" concept clicked: import raw videos on one end, get fully subtitled exports on the other. I shipped the first beta in early 2026 and have been iterating based on real user feedback ever since.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

GeekLink.dev's answer:

Python for the core engine, FFmpeg for video processing, and large language models for AI translation. The app is built as a native macOS application optimized for Apple Silicon (M1โ€“M4) with on-device acceleration.

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

GeekLink.dev's answer:

  • Independent YouTube creators localizing channels from Chinese to English (and vice versa)
  • Short drama production studios translating 50โ€“80 episode series for overseas distribution
  • Online education companies adding multilingual subtitles to course video libraries
  • Fansub communities processing Japanese and Korean variety shows and stage performances
  • Freelance video translators managing client projects in batch

The Native, Batch-First Subtitle Factory for macOS

As a creator and developer, I was frustrated with the current state of video localization on Mac. Most tools are either clunky Windows ports that lag on Apple Silicon or expensive cloud services that charge per-minute fees and compromise data privacy.

I built GeekLink to be a true "Production Line" for video creators. Unlike typical editors that process one file at a time, GeekLink is built for high-volume workflows.

    Why I Built GeekLink:

    • The "Walk Away" Workflow: You can import 2 or 200 videos at once. Configure the engine, click "Run," and let it handle everything from speech recognition to final export.
    • Native Power: Optimized for M1/M2/M3/M4 chips.
    • Privacy First: Your videos never leave your Mac. No cloud uploads, no hidden data collection.
    • Specialized for Complex Audio: Iโ€™ve specifically tuned the AI parameters to handle difficult scenarios like Japanese/Korean variety shows with heavy background music (BGM) that usually breaks other AI tools.

    Key Pro Features:

    1. Multi-Engine Translation: Supports DeepSeek, Claude, and OpenAI-compatible APIs.
    2. Terminology Glossary: Protect your proper nouns and brand terms during translation.
    3. Batch OCR: Extract hardcoded subtitles from legacy videos at scale.

We are currently in Free Beta. If you are a professional studio or a niche content creator looking for a native, private, and efficient way to handle subtitles, Iโ€™d love for you to try it out and share your feedback!

    ๐Ÿ‘ Pros:    Native performance|100% private|Batch-first workflow|No per-minute fees
    ๐Ÿ‘Ž Cons:    Early beta|Macos only
