Possible disadvantages

  • Smaller Community and Ecosystem
Compared to major hosting providers like DigitalOcean, AWS, or even shared hosts like SiteGround, Opalstack has a smaller user base, which means fewer community tutorials, third-party guides, and forum discussions available for troubleshooting.
  • Limited Scalability Options
Opalstack is primarily a shared hosting provider, which means it may not be the best choice for high-traffic applications or projects that require rapid, on-demand scaling of resources like CPU, RAM, or storage.
  • Not Ideal for Beginners
While developer-friendly, Opalstack's approach can be intimidating for non-technical users. Setting up applications often requires familiarity with the command line and server configuration, which may not suit those looking for simple one-click solutions.
  • Limited Data Center Locations
Opalstack offers a relatively small number of data center locations compared to major cloud providers, which may result in higher latency for users targeting audiences in regions not well-served by the available server locations.
  • Fewer Managed Services and Add-ons
Unlike larger hosting platforms, Opalstack lacks a wide range of managed add-on services such as built-in CDN integration, managed backups with granular restore options, or one-click SSL management that more mainstream providers offer out of the box.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ASO.dev and Opalstack.

What makes your product unique?

ASO.dev's answer

ASO Toolkit with NO limits on keywords or apps made by developers for developers

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ASO.dev's answer

We build ASO.dev for everyone who manages apps on the App Store - from independent developers to major mobile publishers. Whether you run a single app or a whole portfolio, we help you automate the repetitive work and focus on what really drives growth.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ASO.dev's answer

ASO.dev gives you complete freedom - no limits, no restrictions. You can track unlimited keywords, apps, and developer accounts. All the keywords your apps rank for are automatically collected into a single, unified list - you don’t need to search or guess which ones matter.

Our automation tools handle repetitive App Store Connect tasks like metadata editing, bulk uploads, translations, and screenshots - saving hours every week for developers and marketing teams. Unlike most tools, ASO.dev combines keyword tracking, metadata management, reviews, and Apple Search Ads insights in a single dashboard, designed for both indie developers and large publishers.

In short: ASO.dev saves time, removes limits, and gives you full control over your App Store growth.

What's the story behind your product?

ASO.dev's answer

ASO.dev was born from our own experience and frustration. After translating our app into 39 languages, we got tired of manually filling out What’s New, managing screenshots, and guessing which keywords users were searching for. We wanted a tool that would simply show all the keywords our app ranked for - and automate everything else.

So we built it ourselves. What started as a small tool quickly grew into a full platform - designed, coded, and scaled entirely by two people, bootstrapped from day one.

Today, ASO.dev helps developers and companies of all sizes save time, automate App Store workflows, and focus on growth instead of routine.

Built from our own pain, grown by passion - and still 100% bootstrapped.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ASO.dev's answer

  • Flutter (multi-platform: macOS, Windows, iOS, Andoid)
  • .NET Core (C#) for API services and integrations
  • MongoDB for app data and user state
  • RabbitMQ for distributed task processing and queue management
  • Kubernetes
  • Rancher
  • Hosted on Hetzner
  • Data backups stored on S3-compatible storage
  • Apple App Store Connect API (metadata, screenshots, in-app events, pricing, etc.)
  • Stripe & RevenueCat for subscription management
