SimpleTradeLog's answer:
SimpleTradeLog started from a personal frustration. As an Interactive Brokers trader, I was using another trading journal and paying a significant subscription fee, only to discover that some of the information I actually neededโlike trading fees and commissionsโwas locked behind an even more expensive premium plan.
That didn't make sense to me.
So instead of paying more, I decided to build the tool I wished existed: a simple, desktop trading journal designed specifically for Interactive Brokers traders. One that imports statements in seconds, accurately calculates net P&L including commissions and fees, keeps all trading data private on your own computer, and remains affordable without unnecessary complexity or expensive subscription tiers.
SimpleTradeLog is the trading journal I wanted to use myselfโand now I'm sharing it with other IBKR traders who want a simpler, more transparent alternative.
