You can use realistic simulators like: http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/ (it's free and open-source: https://github.com/orbitersim/orbiter ) so it means that now the main problem is building the hardware, but the software part is mostly solved. Orbiter does it, but I doubt the solution they use (whatever it is) would work with the game engine Nova uses. Reentry does it too. I guess it depends on how the game has been coded.
