Now, I think that something safe to suggest, seems to be wine vseeface.icu or vtube studio, I don't know the implications of both, so I'll leave a link from an arch-user in hopes that it can help you somehow. Source: over 4 years ago
I'm currently using Lutris with Wine 7.1-staging, running the newest version (1.13.37c) from the VSeeFace website (currently there is a known issue on the newest version that requires deleting ``GPUManagement.dll`` to get it running but this was not the case with previous versions). The previously working setup was version 1.13.36h with wine 6.0. Source: over 4 years ago
VSeeFace has garnered notable attention in the VTuber software landscape due to its robust features and accessibility. As an open-source tool, VSeeFace facilitates the transformation of facial and hand movements into a 3D virtual avatar, making it an appealing choice for both novice and seasoned VTubers. A standout feature of VSeeFace is its advanced facial tracking technology, which is reputed for accurately detecting subtle facial expressions such as eyebrow movements, blinking, and mouth positioning. This allows VTubers to convey a wider range of emotions in real-time, minimizing the reliance on pre-defined toggle expressions.
Compatibility with various mobile applications such as iFacialMocap and VTube Studio enhances its utility, enabling seamless synchronization for users aiming to achieve refined VTubing experiences. Its capacity to offer these features free for non-commercial use increases its allure, particularly among budget-conscious creators. However, as with many powerful tools, the software remains in beta, suggesting the presence of minor bugs with each update. Users are therefore encouraged to retain older versions of the software to ensure stability and continuity of operations.
Public opinion reflects a community-driven ecosystem around VSeeFace, evidenced by the plethora of tutorials and guides available online. This signifies a user base eager to assist each other in overcoming technical challenges, a testament to the software's popularity and integration into the VTubing culture.
Despite its popularity, VSeeFace isn't without limitations. Some challenges include compatibility issues across different operating systems, specifically Linux users utilizing Wine to run VSeeFace. Documentation points to specific troubleshooting steps, such as deleting particular files like GPUManagement.dll, to address these issues in recent updates.
When juxtaposed with competitors like VTube Studio, TrackIR, and FaceTrackNoIR, VSeeFace distinguishes itself with its open-source nature combined with robust tracking capabilities. Its versatility extends beyond VTubing; the software has gained recognition among general animation enthusiasts seeking similar functionalities to Wakaru, Luppet, and 3tene.
In conclusion, VSeeFace's competitive edge in the VTuber software space lies in its high precision facial tracking, the flexibility of integration with other VTubing tools, and a supportive user community. While certain technical quirks remain, mainly due to its beta status, the advantages it offers in creative expression and cost make it a favored option among VTubers and animation hobbyists alike.
