That's years after Riftcat/VRidge, iVRy and AMD ReLiveVR did it and finally Airlink only happened because VirtualDesktop was stealing the show, an as far as I know only existed because this engineer started it on their own, PC compatibility was very very low on Metas TODO list. One way is with Vridge / Riftcat, which is the only program I know of which allows you to use the Flow with SteamVR. You have to install Riftcat on your PC, which can be downloaded on their website and then you have to install vridge on the Vive Flow. Weird, why isn't mobile phone VR actual VR? In both cases it's just two screen elements behind lenses with some headset tracking mechanism. I don't have that much to shell out for actual VR headsets, so I did some research and found this: https://riftcat.com/vridge . Among other titles, Elite Dangerous is featured as one of the main games to work well with this tech. It essentially streams VR-capable images to your smartphone so that you can practically use any smartphone VR "holder", even Google Cardboard, and turn into a cheap entry-level VR device. That system might have an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, I loved that CPU, I had it in a system along side a GTX 750 and 8gigs of RAM, It would happily run Fall out new vegas, Portal series, Half life, good little work horse. This might be a long shot (and I haven't tested it myself), but if your wife's computer is a gaming PC, it's possible that you could play PCVR titles using Riftcat/VRidge using the Quest APK. Check the specifications and you might just be in luck; thankfully there's a free version with a 10 minute time limit and plenty of free titles on SteamVR and the Oculus Rift store that may work for a PC just a bit below PCVR... If you plan (at any capacity) to attempt to play PCVR games, you will need a beefy computer and a license of Riftcat or equivalent software, also taking into account you wont have "tracked hand controls". (does cut off 90% of the good stuff). Source: over 5 years ago
