• As someone who works from coffee shops often, I WISH the MacOS volume glyph would reflect a connected device like iOS does

  If you're willing to dabble with some code, there's a fantastic app called Ubersicht that adds custom stuff to your desktop. I know, you're probably thinking "That's not at ALL what I want!" but I bet you could use it to put an icon in the bottom left or right corner of your screen to show when your audio is connected to your AirPods instead of the speakers, or something like that.   I don't know why exactly but I prefer to avoid iStat and similar (to be honest I'm using only the bluetooth widget of MenuBar Stats), because all of those app are full of pointless info and use more resource than what is worth. Übersicht instead is super-lightweight and minimal and I can see only the minimum needed without distracting. Source: over 2 years ago

  Übersicht is basically the macOS version of Rainmeter which allows you to run desktop widgets built simply on HTML/CSS/JS to monitor system settings, display HUDs for your running services... Realistically you can create widgets to display absolutely anything you want. If you can do even some basic web design, you can get Übersicht running.
