  • Help me find a switch
But, I tried to do a typing test, on typingtest.com and write for 5 minutes on my MacBook Pro 14inch keyboard, and try it again on this Iris keyboard. Source: 8 months ago
  • What yearly salary should I negotiate for a full time admin assistant?

  • It made me strangely happy to see this on the typing test website.
I believe that was typingtest on technology tag. Source: 12 months ago
  • Scribe America Online interview
For me, I didn't have to during the meeting and they wanted a certificate of typingtest.com results for my application and after interviewing. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Working on my speed by just practicing consistently. Any tips to improve more?
IMO, Monkeytype is the best website for practicing your typing speed unlike other websites such as typeracer.com, nitrotype.com, typingtest.com, etc.... Which are solely used for improving typing accuracy. Also, 10 words mode was born out of Monkeytype, and I guess what Mythical Rocket just did typing at around 400 wpm on 10 words is very satisfying and motivating. Don't get me wrong, kool-keys, but inspiration... Source: about 1 year ago
  • is 143 wpm impressive for a 14 yr old?
Hello, it was my first time doing a 10 word test and I was just surprised at how high my wpm was. I wanted to see if other people my age got the same wpm as me taking the 10s test. I usually do 1-2 minute tests on typingtest.com, where I usually get slightly over 100wpm w a mid-high 90% accuracy rate. Source: about 1 year ago
  • TIPP10 – Free Touch Typing Tutor
I don't like how TIPP10 requires registration to use the app, personally. I taught myself touch typing more than 20 years ago on https://typingtest.com, which is still around. I still go there occasionally to test out new keyboards. The site is great because you can launch into a test instantly with no registration. IMO those kinds of short passaegs are all you really need to get good at typing. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • I have apparently hit a typing-speed ceiling
2: try switching to a harder word list / duration, if you're using monkeytype for instance you could switch to 1k or 5k, or on typingtest.com you could switch to the hard setting. You'll type slower but it gives your body a chance to learn new ngrams and your muscle memory for the ngrams in your old word list will still continue to improve. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How accurate is typingtest.com vs monkeytype?
I've tried about 6 different sites now and find they all give me different results so I've narrowed it down to these two. Monkeytype consistently has me at a much higher score than typingtest.com, but monkeytype doesn't have any capital letters or numbers, which typingtest.com does have. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Entry level
Just took the typingtest.com medium speed test, 57 words per minute. Source: over 1 year ago

  • How to increase the typing speed with accuracy
I find that it helps to switch between websites and software from time to time. Just make sure that in each website you're always aiming for accuracy first before speed. I personally started practicing 1.5 years ago starting from absolutely nothing. When teachers would conduct typewritten or online exams I would always struggle to pass it on time with all of my ideas laid out in the paper just becuase I was typing... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Differences in typing speed
That's actually almost the exact opposite of what I was saying. Also, typingtest.com has roughly the same amount of punctuation/capitalization as nitro type, which is why I'm asking. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Differences in typing speed
Hello all, when I typed on nitro type, I usually get 110-120, maybe even reaching 130 wpm sometimes. Whereas, when I type on typingtest.com, I only get around 80-95, which is quite a substantial difference. I doubt I'm just typing faster on nitro type, since I feel I'm typing in the exact same way. It could just be accuracy that slows it down, but it just feels surprising to me that it would slow it down that... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Programming Setup (HFW + Personal)
On typingtest.com I get about 90-100 WPM with them, I consider myself a fast typist. Source: about 2 years ago
  • School-Based Treatment Ideas
Everyone listed great activities! I would also like to add that if you have a student with a typing/WPM goal, then typingtest.com is a great, free resource. When you need to check on their WPM rate, use that as a consistent way to document their WPM and accuracy %. Hope that helps! Source: about 2 years ago
  • What's your fastest typing speed?
If you haven't tried it out yet, you should check out typingtest.com. It's a lot of fun, especially trying to type out the legal documents. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Need Resume Feedback: I'm a gap year student who's had a year of college education and no work experience. I'm looking for a remote (part-time?) job with flexible hours, probably as a customer service representative.
Under skills, add computer and typing skills. Go to typingtest.com and see how fast you type if you're not sure. Anything above 40 wpm is good and should be listed. I usually suggest wording it something like: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.). Listing it this way doesn't specify what level you're at and honestly, I feel like most people can pick it all up pretty quickly even if you don't know... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Writing when you can't type?
Typingtest.com has some courses over touch typing that may help. Source: over 2 years ago
  • How do you know your accurate wpm?
It definitely depends on what you're typing (bursts of short words, or long complicated sentences with punctuation?) As far as websites to definitively tell you your rough typing speed, I'd reccomend 10fastfingers, monkeytype or typingtest.com. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Is the Avast Online Security chrome extension worth downloading?
I used Firefox and it uses far more ram than chrome. Also, Chrome is faster at loading typingtest.com too. However, https everywhere would be a good extension but Deltablocker is much better than Ublock origin. Source: over 2 years ago
