Have been digging a little more in the little time I have spare at the moment - Seems DNS blacklists/redirect are not fully successfull. Even though I have redirected the domains sling.com, slingbox.com and slingmedia.com to a local "HoneyPod" on my lan it still appears that the slingbox is trying to talk to 67.148.153.136 and 67.148.153.250 on the internet which it can not get to since I shutdown all internet... Ah, got it...there is a "MANAGE ACCOUNT" link on the bottom in the PC app but all it does is launch sling.com in whatever the default browser is so that is not going to be much help...maybe something for them to add in the future. Source: almost 4 years ago

OK, now its after 10pm here, and suddenly everything is streaming fine on the bedroom TV, which is showing 222 up and down with the Tivo dongle. I suppose it could be the link to sling from ATT here that was the issue, I was pinging sling.com and getting 12ms ping returns, but not sure if that is the same location the streaming is actually coming from.
