Any good open source video editor for Windows? Top google results include https://www.openshot.org/ and https://shotcut.org/, but both don't have obvious links to the code repositories and it took me a while to find them which is often not a good sign. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
Does anyone know how it compares with Shotcut[1]? It's free, open source, and works on Windows, Mac and Linux. I've been a happy user for a while. [1] https://shotcut.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
Shotcut (to put them together at the same framerate and size). Source: 4 months ago
I used OBS to capture my screen, shotcut to edit the video, and this command to create a gif (Shotcut also supports exporting to a gif, but it seems to take longer to process). - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
To set the test up, I used OBS, Shotcut, and Excel. As a comparison to Infinite I used H3 MCC and the PC Forge version of H5. Unless otherwise stated, I used a keyboard as an input device in order to reduce the variation between tests, since the analog nature of controller thumb sticks could affect the results. Answered already but worth noting shotcut is a fantastic free program to edit your videos with https://shotcut.org. Source: 9 months ago

Other free tools I have tried in the past include Kdenlive and Shotcut. Tried Lightworks way back, too, but their free version is now not much better than Filmora. Got one eye on Olive, too, but it's very much still in beta. Source: 9 months ago
I put the two together in a video editing program called Shotcut. Source: 9 months ago
Been using Shotcut for a while and have been pretty happy with it. Most of the clips I've recorded have been trimmed with it. Source: 10 months ago
Kdenlive or shotcut for small/basic stuff. If you're outgrow those, then DaVinci Resolve Free. Source: 10 months ago
Ew 24 fps. Use https://shotcut.org good free editor for this kind of stuff. Source: 12 months ago
You should just be able to use Handbake https://handbrake.fr/ to convert to something DaVinci Resolve likes. Failing that something like Shotcut https://shotcut.org/ might be able to do some basic editing. Oh - or convert with VLC? Source: about 1 year ago
OBS for me too, controller overlay from MoonsPod, trimmed down with Shotcut to preserve footage quality. Would always end up with 30 fps clips when using Windows' built-in trimming tools, even when recording at 60. Source: about 1 year ago
Shotcut is great, and it's free and opensource. Source: about 1 year ago
Shotcut is a good/free video editor that can export your "project" as an audio file. DaVinci Resolve is similar (and likely more powerful) however that program doesn't seem to work with Untwitch's videos for whatever reason. Source: about 1 year ago
This tool is free and have much more then you need: https://shotcut.org/. Source: about 1 year ago
The easies video editors I know are Clipify and Shotcut, both are beginner friendly and good to start learning with. Source: about 1 year ago
ShotCutis full version free video editor. You can add music, add sounds or text and much more. Personally I found it much easier then DaVinci Resolve (which is free but the free version misses some features - ShotCut doesn't). Source: about 1 year ago
Try Shotcut. It's the only program I can think of that might do what you're asking. Source: about 1 year ago
Not sure if Shotcut is getting enough love or not but it has completely replaced Adobe Premiere Pro for me. I use it for work. Source: about 1 year ago
