We have tracked the following product recommendations or mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you see what people think about Shlink and what they use it for.
  • How I Built a Scalable, Free URL Shortener.
Building a URL shortener from scratch? Nah, youโ€™re crazy! Instead, we grabbed a trusty open-source solution thatโ€™s already been battle-tested. By using this ready-made tool, we skipped the drama of starting from zero and cut our development time way down. This gave us more time to focus on making our app and management system even betterโ€”plus, it saved us from pulling out our hair! - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
  • Show HN: An open-source alternative to Bitly
Last big project at my old job was for an appointment notification service. In addition to making messages longer and thus costing us more, counterintuitively the unshortened URLs got flagged as spam by automated systems and end users more than shortened. However, you canโ€™t use bitly or other free/public shorteners; use one hosted on your own domain. I used shlink https://shlink.io/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Copying microsofts aka.ms links with our internal Dns to help stop phishing
IF you just want to setup an internal link shortener, there is software out there for it. We do it at my company. The best one I've found is Shlink: https://shlink.io/. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Shlink CLI issue
I have just set up shlink.io via /r/portainer and docker-compose. Now I have tried opening the CLI to generate an API key which I need for the shlink web interface but unfortunately it closes in a fraction of a second after bin/cli, showing all available arguments. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Permanent URL to file possible?
Are you looking for stable HTTP/S URLs that you can publish for others to access? One solution to that might be to purchase your own domain and host a little redirector service that bounces the consumer to the real, currently active, cloud URL. Something like https://shlink.io/ might work (but Iโ€™ve not used it, and thatโ€™s just a suggestion not a recommendation!). Source: over 3 years ago
  • F/OSS Spotlight: ๐Ÿ”— Shlink
Need to post some links in a small amount of space? You're going to want Shlink (code). - Source: dev.to / over 3 years ago
  • Forwarding source IP from HAProxy?
I'm working on setting up Shlink, a self-hosted URL shortening service. I've got it set up in docker and it's working, but now I want to set up a reverse proxy for it. I use HAProxy on pfSense, but in order to make it work, the documentation states that I need to make sure the "consumer's IP address, and the requests domain, are forwarded from the proxy". • Mass/Systematic redirects
One option I could think of is a URL shortener that has an API - shlink for example - or one that uses a database that you could connect to. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Self Hosted Alternatives to tinyurl.com?
Have a look at shlink, I yet have to spin up an instance, but it looks simple and has a web-ui. Standing on my todo list for quite a while now :D. Source: about 4 years ago
  • Pckd - The most โšก๏ธ analytics-intensive ๐Ÿ’ช self-hostable ๐Ÿ”— URL shortener, with an amazing UI ๐Ÿ˜
Ever hear of this? https://shlink.io. Source: over 4 years ago
  • I'm going to be moving to truenas scale soon, any recommendations? Or any better Nas operating system?
I have been using Truenas Core/FreeNAS since mid 2019 for mass storage of my 30 TB of photos and mostly videos (I make videos for clients and keep all data from previous projects (many of them a few hundred GB to 2 TB of 4K ProRes RAW video)) as well as numerous jails (similar to Docker containers but FreeBSD) in which I run Nextcloud, Shlink, a [matrix] server (Synapse), a dovecot/postfix mailserver, my website,... • Tool For URL Collections
Just found https://shlink.io/, looks pretty promising. It's not made for the purpose of collecting URLs, but that's fine. It supports tags and a description which is more than enough :). Source: over 4 years ago
  • Best subdomain for url shortener?
I have a classic name and surname .com domain and I need to use a url shortener like Shlink on a subdomain. Source: almost 5 years ago
  • Question: What is the recommended URL-Shortener selfhosted software?
I find https://shlink.io/ very effective. Source: about 5 years ago
