  • Matter 1.2 Arrives with Nine New Device Types and Improvements Across the Board
Unfortunately the options for HKSV doorbells is fairly limited. The Logitech circle view Doorbell looks like the best candidate but it has a spotty review history, with the biggest complaint being it breaking in direct sunlight. I’m about to buy some cameras and I’m thinking of just buying Nest and using to bridge to HKSV. - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
  • $600 NVR With Person Detection Budget
Annke is recommended by or Ubiquiti (The best). Source: over 1 year ago
  • UCK-G2-PLUS not showing camera's to non-owner users (local and UI account)
I added some extra users (1 local account for and 1 UI account for the girlfriend). They can login perfectly but they don't see any cameras. Tried with both "Viewer" and "Administrator" role. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Advice on Proxmox and CPU capabilities.
I can't believe as an absolute noob with proxmox ill be able to help someone. I just got docker running successfully in a Debian 11 LXC following this guide last night. It worked great , deployed to the container and it is up and running:. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Ubiquiti/HomeKit Integration: Need Advice, Am currently renovating....
I use my UniFi Protect cameras in HomeKit using Scrypted. It's very nice and works super well. Even has HKSV. Source: about 2 years ago

  • HomePod + Nest Doorbell (Battery) + Starling Bridge = no notifications or chime?
I am not familiar with the Starling Hub :( but, I would really look into r/Scrypted. Their site has a bunch of documentation on getting all this to work :). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Eve Announce new outdoor cam
I am assuming from experience with Google Floodlights and HKSV jury rigged through scrypted that the following will be true, since much of what Eve offers here comes from the same AppleTV-processed HKSV side not the camera feed:. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Eve Announce new outdoor cam
I would strongly recommend looking into and any PoE camera you can find. Works great for me here (scrypted running on our home iMac which is always on anyways; I had it running on a Pi4, but then the docker container for scrypted started crashing with a node.js segfault, which appears to be an issue with docker on Pi4s specifically). It does take a little bit of "able to copy/paste stuff into... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Are Nest Cameras with Starling Hub the best way to go for Doorbell and Outdoor cameras right now?
I have just swapped my Nest doorbell for a UniFi G4 doorbell. Much nicer system, with local recording. I have also got it setup with Apple HomeKit Secure Video using so I get cloud storage too. Source: over 2 years ago
  • I love HomeKit but Jesus!
One thing I always suggest for people who struggle with slow camera response is to check out It offers good homekit plugins and if you are willing to do the work, you can integrate just about any camera in a really fast and natrual way. Its a new project of course, so kinks are there (especially is you use wyze cams) but most everything else is really good right now. Source: over 2 years ago
