It's a server management service, they use AWS (or your host of choice) under the hood. I personally use something similar called Runcloud which I haven't had any problems with. It's a halfway house between a managed platform and your own VPS. Means you don't have to worry about security, vhosts, ssl certificates, restricting access etc... With real person support if you need it, and a tidy interface to monitor... Source: over 2 years ago

Maybe something more extensive than what you need, but RunCloud checks all of your boxes: runcloud.io. Source: about 3 years ago
So after a good number of years on runcloud.io, (basic and Pro plans yes, I run multiple accounts) I am looking to see if there are alternatives to it, that may offer more features/same pricing or better pricing. Source: about 3 years ago
For PHP https://platform.sh has got a lot of traction, but it's notc cheap especially for small apps. If you hadn't wanted the Docker-based backing I would suggest trying one of the services that automates setting up your VMs at AWS, DigitalOcean, Linode etc like https://forge.laravel.com/, https://runcloud.io/, https://serverpilot.io/, https://www.cloudways.com/ etc. - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
As a middle ground I've been using https://runcloud.io/ which is working out great so far. Source: over 3 years ago

I have a couple Linode instances spun up with RunCloud running on them. I really enjoy the set up. I also utilize GitHub Actions for building and deploying some projects, while other projects I have GitHub + RunCloud web hooks to handle CI/CD. Source: almost 4 years ago

You may create/purchase a server from DigitalOcean/Linode/Vultr depending on your disk space utilization and install a control panel such as Cloudstick.io runcloud.io or serverpilot.io - the way I recommended would not increase your bill anymore. Source: about 4 years ago
RunCloud, a SaaS-based web hosting control panel, has been generating noteworthy interest as a versatile and user-friendly alternative to traditional control panels such as cPanel and CyberPanel. Its primary focus on managing PHP-based applications, particularly WordPress, makes it an attractive choice for developers and agencies planning to streamline their server management processes.
One of the most frequently highlighted strengths of RunCloud is its simplicity and ease of setup. The platform allows users to manage servers without requiring extensive Linux expertise, eliminating the traditional barrier of technical know-how. Moreover, the onboarding process is noted for its simplicity—users can start without a credit card and implement the system using an SSH command, which is appealing for professionals looking for efficient and less cumbersome server management solutions.
RunCloud offers a pragmatic balance between cost and functionality. The availability of a free 5-day trial allows potential users to explore the capabilities of the platform without immediate financial commitment. While some users consider seeking alternatives for possibly enhanced features or competitive pricing, the consensus suggests that RunCloud's pricing structures are generally considered reasonable relative to the benefits provided, such as the reduction in administrative overhead and comprehensive support.
A recurring theme in feedback is the comprehensive toolset RunCloud offers for web application management. Its built-in file manager, capability to manage multiple teams, and reliance on top cloud hosting platforms like AWS and DigitalOcean facilitate a smooth hosting experience. Users specifically highlight its effectiveness in handling PHP projects, solidifying its role as a convenient LAMP stack setup solution, which significantly eases the deployment process for CMS platforms and other web applications.
RunCloud is often commended for its responsive customer support, which provides a reassuring backup for users venturing into server management or encountering technical issues. Many attest to its reliability, particularly those who prefer to minimize their role as system administrators while still maintaining control over their hosting environments.
While RunCloud competes directly with several robust server management tools like Laravel Forge, ServerPilot.io, and CloudStick.io, it maintains a strong market position by addressing the needs of developers who prefer a no-fuss, efficient, and highly functional solution. It often features in discussions on preferred alternatives to more expensive or complex solutions, indicating positive reception in the developer community.
In summary, RunCloud is perceived as a capable, cost-effective, and user-friendly server management platform, especially favored by PHP developers looking for streamlined management of their hosting environments. As an alternative to traditional control panels, it meets the market's demand for efficiency and ease of use, supported by a responsive support system and a competitive pricing model.
