  • A collection of useful Mac Apps
Raycast - Price: Free Spotlight-like app for macOS that allows you to quickly access and execute commands, access apps, hotkeys, text expansion, clipboard manager and more. Source: 10 months ago
  • Everything I Installed on My New Mac
Raycast is a productivity tool that lets you search apps and do things just with a single keystroke. It's like Spotlight on steroids. I've been using it for a while now and it's been a game-changer. I can't imagine using my Mac without it. I use it to open apps, search files, run scripts, and so much more. It has a vibrant ecosystem of extensions that you can install to do even more. I highly recommend checking it... - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago

  • Power User's Guide to the Galaxy
I'll also recommend Raycast as an alternative to Alfred. It's like Alfred on steroids. It also has the ability to add extensions that can be developed with a bit of programming knowledge. Source: 12 months ago
  • Typeform Navigator: My Raycast Extension
I discovered Raycast a few weeks ago, at first sight I notice the power of extensions. You can create automation and handy commands for everything. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago

  • Privacy first, open source home automation
This is also exactly how I use HA. It works quite well. I don't have too many automations. I also recently started using https://raycast.com which has a nice HA plugin. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Impressions from a first-time Mac user
I've been using Raycast [0] as an alternative to Spotlight and Alfred. Super fast file search, good looking and very extensible with its large community. Plus, it's a YC company :). [0]: https://raycast.com/. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
  • Productivity Tools I Use
Raycast - Workflows, snippets, MacOS spotlight on steroids. I previously used Alfred, another excellent Spotlight alternative. There are plans to create a version for Linux and Windows, but they want to get it right on macOS first. - Source: dev.to / about 2 years ago

  • Clipboard app for regularly used text
Take a look at Raycast. It has a clipboard manager which can be set to store elements up to 30 days, but it also has snippets, which are basically simple texts, links, etc. Which you can save for later use, and can also set a "keyword" for it. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Noob question: does the Desktop have an important role in Mac OS?
Interesting question. I thought about this as well when I switched. I just use it for two things. 1) let external drivers show up as an icon. Reminds me to eject it:) 2) just random files which I use for a rather short period of time. Other than that I heavily use Raycast which is such an efficient app. No need for desktop other than great wallpapers. Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Open-Source Software for MacOS
In a recent post by u/B4PTIST4, they mentioned that IINA is the best media player for macOS so I was wondering what other such free/open-source software can I use for my intel Macbook Air?. I recently tried Raycast and while I see the functionality in it, I'm a student so the default file search isn't really cutting it for me. Saying that I could set up hotkeys for me to use the dictionary while not going off my... Source: almost 3 years ago
