Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Quixli.io.
  1. What makes Quixli.io unique?

Quixli is the only document platform where you can build inline Gantt charts, content calendars, SWOT matrices, and Eisenhower grids right inside your document โ€” not as separate tools or database views, but as native editor blocks alongside your text.

On top of that, Quix collections let you bundle related pages into a shareable package with auto-generated table of contents and smooth page-to-page navigation โ€” essentially turning a set of documents into a mini-website with one link.

Sharing goes beyond basic link permissions: PIN protection, expiration dates, view count limits, and domain-restricted access give you full control over who sees your content and for how long.

All of this lives inside a 50+ block editor that supports embedded PDFs, videos, Figma designs, Excalidraw diagrams, Mermaid flowcharts, syntax-highlighted code, LaTeX math, and more โ€” without switching tools.

  2. Why should a person choose Quixli.io over its competitors?

Most document tools make you choose: a powerful editor (Google Docs), smart organization (Notion), or flexible sharing (Dropbox Paper). Quixli does all three without the tradeoffs.

Compared to Notion โ€” Quixli has richer native blocks (Gantt charts, content calendars, matrix grids all inline), simpler UX without the database learning curve, and deeper sharing controls with PIN, expiry, and view limits. Flat $4.99/month pricing vs Notion's per-user model.

Compared to Google Docs โ€” Quixli offers 50+ block types vs basic formatting, bundles pages into Quix collections for organized sharing, and works independently of any ecosystem.

Compared to Confluence โ€” Quixli is lightweight, modern, and takes 30 seconds to set up. No enterprise complexity, no per-user pricing bloat.

You also get real-time collaboration, full version history with one-click rollback, multi-format import/export (PDF, DOCX, Markdown, HTML), and a generous free tier with no credit card required.

  3. How would you describe the primary audience of Quixli.io?

Quixli serves anyone who creates, organizes, and shares professional documents:

Content creators โ€” blog posts, newsletters, course materials, and social media content banks with built-in content calendars for scheduling.

Developers and technical writers โ€” API docs, architecture guides, code snippets with syntax highlighting, and Mermaid diagrams for technical documentation.

Educators โ€” lesson plans, study guides, and course bundles using Quix collections with smooth page-to-page navigation for students.

Teams and managers โ€” SOPs, meeting notes, project documentation, and knowledge bases with Gantt charts for planning and analytics for tracking engagement.

Marketers and designers โ€” campaign briefs, brand guidelines, Figma embed showcases, and content calendars for multi-platform planning.

The common thread: professionals who need more than a basic text editor but don't want the complexity of enterprise platforms.

  4. What's the story behind Quixli.io?

Quixli was born from a simple frustration: creating and organizing documents shouldn't require 3-4 separate tools.

I'm Valerii Checha, a full-stack developer from Ukraine. I kept running into the same problem โ€” write in one tool, organize in another, share through a third, and track engagement somewhere else. Every tool did one thing well but forced compromises everywhere else.

So I built Quixli from scratch โ€” every line of code, every feature, every pixel. As a solo developer, I had the freedom to make opinionated decisions: native Gantt charts and content calendars as editor blocks (not bolted-on database views), Quix collections that turn a set of pages into a shareable mini-site, and sharing controls that actually protect your content.

The vision is simple: modern document creation should be intuitive, powerful, and accessible to everyone โ€” not just teams with enterprise budgets.

  5. Which are the primary technologies used for building Quixli.io?

Frontend: Next.js 14 with React 18, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Shadcn UI (built on Radix primitives). The editor is powered by TipTap with 40+ custom extensions built on top of ProseMirror.

Backend: NestJS 11 with TypeScript, following Clean Architecture with CQRS pattern. PostgreSQL as the primary database with Prisma ORM.

Real-time collaboration: Yjs (CRDT) with Hocuspocus WebSocket server for conflict-free simultaneous editing.

Infrastructure: DigitalOcean App Platform, DigitalOcean Spaces (S3-compatible) for file storage with CDN, Docker for containerization.

Additional: Sentry for error monitoring, Paddle for payments, Resend for transactional emails, Puppeteer for PDF export, KaTeX for math rendering, Mermaid and Excalidraw for diagrams, Highlight.js for syntax highlighting.

  6. Who are some of the biggest customers of Quixli.io?

Quixli is currently used by individual professionals, small teams, educators, and content creators across multiple countries. As an early-stage product built by a solo developer, we're focused on growing our user community rather than chasing enterprise logos.

Our most active users include freelance content creators managing client deliverables, university educators bundling course materials into Quix collections, development teams documenting their APIs and architecture, and marketing professionals planning campaigns with built-in content calendars.

Structured and secure document sharing made easy

I started using Quixli to organize client documents and internal workflows, and itโ€™s been a very positive experience so far. The editor blocks are flexible, and I like how easy it is to build structured pages without needing extra tools.

The ability to bundle documents into Quix with automatic navigation is especially helpful when sharing materials with clients. PIN protection and expiry settings add an extra layer of professionalism and security.

Overall, itโ€™s a promising platform for small teams and creators who need structured documentation with secure sharing options.

    ๐Ÿ Competitors: Notion
๐Ÿ‘ Pros:    Secure sharing with pin & expiry|Flexible editor blocks|Clean document structure|Easy page bundling into collections
