Check porkbun.com, namesilo.com, then namecheap.com. They offer most but not all TLDs but each offers a few the other doesn't. There are some that none of them offer so you can try GoDaddy but they're pricey. Those three are among your best bets for long term low pricing. Source: over 2 years ago
You will catch on in no time. Play localy. When you are capable enough, buy yourself domain and hosting. I always sugest to beginers https://namesilo.com; for 30$ a year you will have domain, host and own mail, and turnkey WordPress installation. Source: about 3 years ago
If you decide to go WP route, I can recommend https://namesilo.com For start. Source: about 3 years ago
If you want to pay extra for privacy sure, go with godaddy. But better domain registers that do no charge for privacy and are closer to wholesale prices are, https://porkbun.com and https://namesilo.com. Source: about 3 years ago
I've read this same story before, and indeed, multiple websites use the same phrasing who also don't list their address. This website was registered through namesilo.com on the 29th of October, 2022 - strange for a company that supposedly has been buying liquidated stamps for a long time. Source: over 3 years ago
I would recommend trying on namesilo.com for future checks. Source: over 3 years ago
I use namesilo.com and have custom domains set up with Firebase. Just make sure you leave the HOSTNAME blank and put everything in ADDRESS / VALUE. I got a bit confused about that because the equal sign made me think the "google-site-verification" part went in HOSTNAME. Source: almost 5 years ago
I want to achieve this similar setup using the domain name I just purchased (ie. MYNAS.com). I think I am having some issues with certificate setup and routing them correctly. My domain was purchased via namesilo.com which has internal DNS management - I have "www.nas.MYNAS.com" forwarded via CNAME to "MYNAS.synology.me" but it just won't connect. You don't need a .jp or .co.jp TLD domain. There is nothing wrong with either TLD (though for .co.jp you will need to provide proof of a corporate entity) but they are more expensive. If the name you want is available as a .com you can certainly go that route instead. Apple for example has their Japanese website hosted on their .com domain. If you do opt for .com or another TLD then I highly recommend NameSilo for... Source: over 5 years ago
NameSilo positions itself as a cost-effective and secure solution for domain registration and web hosting, receiving a mix of positive and cautious feedback from users and reviewers across the industry.
1. Competitive Pricing and Extensions:
NameSilo is notably appreciated for its aggressive pricing strategy, particularly in comparison with Namecheap and GoDaddy, two of its direct competitors. The platform differentiates itself by offering long-term affordability in domain registrations. Its unique selling proposition includes providing a one-year extension on domain expiration dates for users who migrate their existing domains to NameSilo. This strategic initiative has positioned NameSilo as a favorable option for individuals looking to manage their domain portfolios while minimizing costs.
2. Free WHOIS Privacy:
Users value NameSilo's commitment to privacy, as it offers free WHOIS privacy protectionโan area where it is found to be more comprehensive than Namecheap. This feature is instrumental in safeguarding user data and has been highlighted positively in reviews and forum discussions. By presenting privacy as a free perk rather than a premium service, NameSilo enhances its appeal among privacy-conscious customers.
1. User Recommendations for Beginners:
Aside from competitive pricing and strong privacy measures, NameSilo comes highly recommended for beginners in web development and domain management. It is often suggested as a start-up choice for those looking to begin with affordability yet functionality in mind. NameSiloโs offerings, which include domain registration, web hosting, and integrated WordPress installations for approximately $30 a year, are seen as providing substantial value.
2. Integration and Management Features:
NameSilo's domain management capabilities, including DNS management and CNAME forwarding, make it a practical choice for users with specific technical needs. There are occasional reports of users facing challenges with setup, such as certificate configurations or DNS resolutions, indicating room for improvement in guidance and customer support for more technical tasks.
1. Limited TLD Availability:
One limitation mentioned is the availability of certain TLDs. NameSilo, like some competitors, offers a range of TLDs but does not offer all that are available in the market. Consequently, users sometimes have to resort to alternatives like GoDaddy for less common or more region-specific domain extensions, albeit at a higher price.
2. Potential for Use in Questionable Registrations:
NameSilo has been noted in discussions about questionable uses of its services. Instances such as the registration of websites potentially misleading consumers raise concerns over how domain registrars like NameSilo might be implicated or perceived in certain situations. Nevertheless, this does not necessarily reflect on NameSilo's operational integrity but rather highlights the challenges registrars face in monitoring domain use.
In summary, NameSilo presents itself as a compelling choice in the domain registration market, especially appealing to budget-conscious individuals and beginners. Its strong emphasis on cost efficiency, privacy, and straightforward service delivery is underscored by the accolades it receives across forums and reviews. However, users with advanced needs or those seeking specific TLDs must evaluate their options, while NameSilo could benefit from enhancing its technical support to address occasional user challenges.
