  • Ask HN: How do you manage your personal finances?
Here's my European personal finance software on Apple Macs and iPads journey. I used to use MoneyWiz but it couldn't handle both American, Irish, and Swedish bank or investment accounts. So I outgrew it quickly. Then I did it manually in Excel, and Later Moneydance that is really a great product. That said it didn't really work for me due to my undiagnosed ADHD brain. There is some automation in Monedance but I... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
  • Profit/loss and invoice mgmt tool for non-US SME that is not QuickBooks?
Starting a new corporation and with that P&L balance and without having a CPA on ongoing payroll want to do a much better job at managing my P&L. Currently have done bookkeeping with a combination of CSV bank statement exports and then a manual Perl-based parser to categorize and prepare for taxes. This process has worked fairly well because there are several international accounts that need to be considered that... Source: 11 months ago
  • Good, modern, )open-source?) profit and loss balancing tool with invoicing capabilities for non-US SME?
I have looked at: — https://bigcapital.ly/ — looks promising but seem in its early phase so maybe not super mature— https://moneydance.com/ — seems only work for personal — This reddit thread — mostly focused on personal finances too. Source: 11 months ago
  • reccomendations for personal finance apps 💸
I've used Moneydance (https://moneydance.com/) for years, but I will probably be looking for something else since they still have not been able to get a version that will run on ARM. It has been working as expected using Rosetta, but it runs kinda slow. Source: 11 months ago
  • Cheaper alternative to QuickBooks
MoneyDance might be worth looking into. I've been using it for a couple of years and I'm quite liking it. It says for personal finances, but as cash-based business it should be fine for your uses I expect. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Anyone remember the old software program, Microsoft Money?
When it stopped being developed, I moved to Moneydance in 2005 (Phew, 18 years flew fast...) and I have to say that it's great. It does much more than Microsoft Money did in the past. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Anyone remember the old software program, Microsoft Money?
I landed on MoneyDance and have been very pleased with the outcome. Free trial, 90 day guarantee, full cost is no more than Quicken Deluxe but they upgrade you for free and has many of the same features. They actually have technical support and bank integration for automatic downloads. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How do you track your finances? Software? Apps? Excel?
I used to use MS Money but moved over to Money Dance about 11 years ago, it’s comparable to MS Money and I couldn’t do without it https://moneydance.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Looking for a QUICKBOOKS alternative
I don't use it for business, but I use Moneydance for my personal finances: https://moneydance.com/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Alternatives to Quicken
Moneydance by Infinite Kind https://moneydance.com/ is a great replacement for Quicken. It's easy to move your data to Moneydance and it is easy to download your data from your online financial institutions. All the data is stored on your own computer and not in the cloud with the pros (privacy) and cons (got to have your own good backup plan) that go with that. There is a demo mode to try it out. Batch changing... Source: over 1 year ago
  • Thinking of ditching Windows
I had this very same problem. Quicken was the only thing that kept me running windoze. Then I discovered "Money Dance" at https://moneydance.com/ It is not free, but it works like Quicken, and I have been using it now for 8 years and never looked back. Love it 5-stars. Source: over 1 year ago

Moneydance https://moneydance.com/. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Budget App
Personal finances or finances software in general is a weak area for privacy conscious people. For local solutions there are plenty but my favorite is Moneydance. It has multi platform software including mobile apps. Sadly it does not sync with WebDAV specifically but it has a share folder sync that you can use with Nextcloud. Also using a Spreadsheet for keeping track of your bills can be very powerful and useful... Source: over 2 years ago
