  • Any music player that uses the terminal and can show lyrics
Music On Console has lyrics plugin, but I've never tried it. Source: 11 months ago
  • headless music player project?
I really quite like MOC's terminal UI for playing music files, and I don't see why it shouldn't work with a network drive too (so long as the network drive is mounted in a "normal" way). Source: over 1 year ago
  • headless music player project?
I have a pi connected to a hard drive and a pair of speakers (via 3.5mm). I then use MOC to play music via ssh (and I use juiceSSH on my phone if I want to control it from there). Source: over 1 year ago
  • Music / Radio / Podcasts
I use moc (music on command line) for music: Http://moc.daper.net/ And mpv for internet radio streams. Source: about 2 years ago
  • WM: Fn Volume Keys are not working
To control playback of media players that support MPRIS you can use playerctl. For those that don't you'll have to check the documentation to find out whether or not they can be controlled via the commandline (and hence the keyboard) and what the commands are (e. g. Mocp [OPTIONS] in the case of MOC). Source: over 2 years ago
  • Looking For Suggestions - .desktop file for controlling moc music player
So, taking advantage of how easy it is for me to use the cli applications I've been using for years on desktop, I'm trying to switch over to moc. moc's installed and working great from the repos (extra) and I've setup a .desktop file that launches mocp(the front-end client) in kgx (Kings Cross Terminal). That works great. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • [Request] Command-line audio player for Windows?
Music on Console (MOC) is Linux-only, so won't work. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • How to live your digital life in a terminal : Introduction
Although you cannot avoid using a GUI to enjoy Youtube, this setup is a magnitude more minimal. You avoid the ads, the annoying comments, the JavaScript tracking and the recommended/related videos. You can also play podcast episodes with the excellent moc player. Now let’s talk about the trickiest component of this setup: the Web Browser. - Source: dev.to / about 3 years ago
