I only created https://mkws.sh/ for duplication and templates. Those are the only problems it solves. I think it's portable enough. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
I also jokingly refer to https://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/Provider/ShellScript.html as the first version of my static site generator https://mkws.sh/. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
You might enjoy mine https://mkws.sh/. It's shell based. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
I prefer my own UNIX web dev solution https://mkws.sh! Man pages ar too much imo. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
May I recommend my personal creation https://mkws.sh/? Simple, sh based, very customizable, very lightweight. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
Been doing this with `mkws` and on https://mkws.sh since day one! - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Shameless plug for my shell based static site generator https://mkws.sh. You can replace the bin/mkws script with a Plan9 mk file anytime. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
SEEKING WORK|REMOTE Web developer for almost 20 years! Interested in anything vanilla HTML, CSS, JavaScript! Decent in shell, C, OpenBSD! Developed https://mkws.sh/! i@adi.onl. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Maybe you would enjoy my shell based static site generator https://mkws.sh/ :) You could use Plan9's mk https://9p.io/sys/doc/mk.html instead of the main script for other fancy stuff. Source: over 1 year ago
Hi, I'm the maker of mkws! Why don't your take a look at using shell for templating and see if it's fun or not. https://mkws.sh/docs#installmkws. Source: over 2 years ago
Shell is what I use to generate my sites also https://mkws.sh! Very simple, very eficient! - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
I personally find it insane to use the monstrosity in terms of loc and complexity that the v8 engine is to generate a static HTML web site. I also disagree with other JS based static site generators because of the above reasons. I strongly believe it's a bad idea to have to locally install nodejs or deno and write JavaScript to generate a few HTML pages. Also, I disagree with plain HTML because of duplication.... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Might as well check out my POSIX sh static site generator https://mkws.sh/ if you're into this stuff. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
Looks cool! I've beginning to wonder if `Markdown` is the right tool for generating "presentation" or "complex" web pages, as it was originally created for blog posts mostly. I believe that's the reason people complain of the lack of customizability of popular static sites. `Markdown` was made for blog posts not for custom web pages. P.S. Built my own static site generator https://mkws.sh but don't support... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
I think it'd be a great fit to introduce some kind of 'git' hooks that could work just like github actions. Currently, I have a static blog served @ [0] and it is literally a git repo that runs git hooks. I think the project you're doing is awesome, but it would be nice if it could be tuned, e.g. Choose my markdown processor of preference, etc. The git repo for the blog is here: [1] My blog uses a forked tool... - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
I’m more interested in this static site generator thingy at https://mkws.sh/. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
My static site generator https://mkws.sh doesn't do that fancy index.html in a directory stuff. It's simple enough on both sides, user AND dev. Source: about 3 years ago
In my opinion the solution was always progressive enhancement, but things went crazy with JavaScript: The Good Parts and especially Node.js which IMO is a huge hack. I built https://mkws.sh as a solution to at least static site generation. It can be enhanced with a Makefile but for now it's simple enough. I don't believe static site generation is a JavaScript job, and to be honest, I don't believe JavaScript... - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
This one is mine https://mkws.sh/, super simple, shell based. - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
Web site building complexity, for now I started with a simple static site generator https://mkws.sh/. Right now, I'm not using any package manager, no config files, only one language for templates (sh), and obviously HTML, CSS, Js. I eventually plan to develop a simple CMS based on the same ideas. - Source: Hacker News / over 3 years ago
