There are quite a few DJs that use Ableton for DJing (or hybrid sets). Of course, Ableton wasn't made with DJing as its main function in mind but you totally can use it for that purpose and (with some tweaking) do everything and more that would be possible in a dedicated DJing software (like Traktor or Rekordbox or Mixxx). Had the same idea a few years ago and tbh instead just ended up using mixxx with a custom launchpad mapping, which you could probably translate to a midi keyboard. If you prepare your beat grids/bpms well you can get quite far with just having a play and a cue key, maybe some hotcues, and doing crossfades with the mouse lol. Source: over 3 years ago
