  Thank you very much for the detailed and insightful reply. The app in question I was pondering on whether to use or not is MenuBarX. It seems pretty useful, I can imagine a few use cases in which I would find it quite handy, and since I use Adguard I guess it would have also a decent ad/tracking protection.   MenuBarX can probably do this for you. It lets you invoke little browser windows from the menubar, but I don’t see why it couldn’t point towards a local image file (or just through the image on Imgur or something and use the link). Source: almost 2 years ago

  Not exactly the same, but I've been using MenubarX after seeing it on product hunt the other day and have found it useful. It pins a widget-sized safari tab in the menubar so you can quickly check sites you frequent. I use it for https://www.deepl.com/translator. Source: over 2 years ago
