  • Daily General Discussion - June 20, 2023 (GMT+0)

  • Scammer Watches $455K Vanish After Wasting 1 Year
The money wasn't real. Kraken built me a custom environment that made the scammer BELIEVE it was real since it said "kraken.com" on my computer. I also spent hours and hours talking to him and building up the story. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Are Bitcoin staking rewards reinvested?
What the title says, are bitcoin rewards from staking reinvested. Or where are they? Are they paid in fiat or in bitcoin? I assume it's being reinvested because I don't have any money or bitcoin in the account itself. But I'm also looking at some confirmation in writing in kraken.com but I can't see anything. • unstaked eth
Same boat: seems unstaking began & ended 17-APR according to the "Ledger" entries I see on kraken.com, but (1) I still have some relatively small amount of ETH2.S listed as "Staking, Rewards", and (2) despite having 13+ ETH in my Spot wallet, I can only withdraw 0.81856. Would expect to have ALL ETH2.S unstaked (regardless of reward v purchased), and be able to withdraw 100%. What am I missing? Source: about 3 years ago
  • Changing leverage on mobile app
Thanks for reaching out to us with this question. It can be a bit confusing. The Kraken Pro app doesn't currently support the ability to set your own leverage. There you are only able to move the balance you want to use. If you want to adjust the leverage, you can opt to use our classic interface on the web. There you can access the Advanced Order form which will offer you leverage flexibility. Source: over 3 years ago

Summary of the public mentions of Kraken

Public Opinion Summary of Kraken

Kraken, established in 2011, has emerged as a reputable player within the cryptocurrency exchange landscape. Renowned for its robust security and reliability, it handles a substantial daily trading volume of approximately $2 billion. As a platform, it supports a diverse array of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, catering to both novice and seasoned traders.

Approachability and Market Perception

Public sentiment suggests that Kraken is perceived as an accessible alternative to more complex platforms such as Binance. Its appeal is particularly noted among daily traders who prefer straightforward functionalities over advanced derivatives. Unlike some competitors, Kraken's integration of live customer support is notably superior, rendering it a favorable choice for investors new to the cryptocurrency realm.

Pricing and Fee Structure

Kraken employs a competitive maker-taker fee schedule that offers pricing incentives based on trading volume over the previous 30 days. This structure is frequently acknowledged as more economical compared to competitors like Coinbase and Gemini, making it an attractive platform for both individual and institutional traders. For example, customers trading less than $50,000 monthly incur fees of $2.60 for every $1,000 in trading volume, with maker fees ranging from 0% to 0.16% and taker fees between 0.10% and 0.26%.

User Experience and Interface

The platform is lauded for its dual-interface approach; on one hand, kraken.com provides an intuitive interface tailored for beginners, while pro.kraken.com offers advanced trading tools suitable for professionals. Users can seamlessly switch between these interfaces, leveraging a unified login system, which enhances flexibility and user experience. Nevertheless, there are some minor challenges reported with specific browsers, such as compatibility issues with Apple Safari when accessing the Kraken Pro interface.

Security Concerns and Scams

Security is a paramount concern for Kraken users, as evidenced by the proactive nature of discussions surrounding phishing scams. Advocates within the community often emphasize the importance of vigilance, urging users to double-check URLs and to only interact with the official Kraken domain. The platform's secure environment is also leveraged to execute sophisticated simulations designed to expose scams, underscoring its reputation for prioritizing customer protection.

Operational Challenges

Despite its strengths, Kraken is not devoid of operational critiques. Instances of confusion regarding leverage settings on its mobile app and the complexities associated with cryptocurrency staking withdrawals have been observed. These operational intricacies, while not overwhelmingly common, are focal points for discussion among Kraken's user base seeking clarification and guidance.

Overall, Kraken maintains a generally positive standing within the cryptocurrency community, praised for its security, user-friendliness, and competitive pricing. While it continuously strives to address operational challenges, its commitment to customer support and security remains steadfast, reinforcing its position as a prominent and reliable cryptocurrency exchange.

Thanks to God's grace i was almost a victim of their terrible scheme. After investing a lot of funds they refused and still denied withdrawals. I got pissed and had to hand my case to "karistadev.26 at gmailโ— com" and they took up my case after I sent all my proof of ๏ปฟtransactions and fortunately I got my funds back.
