Keypirinha (a launcher) works well with Everything. Both are free. The former hasn’t been updated for a few years, but it still works for launching applications, performing quick calculations, currency conversion, etc. [1]: https://keypirinha.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 3 days ago
Https://keypirinha.com/ there is no update for a long time but this one works perfectly for me. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
Keypirinha for me https://keypirinha.com It's been a while since it was updated last, but since it works, does that matter? - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago
I'm sure there are good launchers on windows that would work better for you. I think I used Keypirinha when I still had a Windows partition and liked it. Source: 12 months ago
I wrote an entire plugin for Keypirinha to index Steam games so I can launch counter-strike without touching my mouse. We are not the same. Source: 12 months ago
Keypirinha another launcher, I’ll have to check out flow, though. [Free]. Source: about 1 year ago
Keypirinha, a very fast keyboard launcher. Source: about 1 year ago
> That's the mistake right there, use a proper app launcher (like https://keypirinha.com/) to avoid the freeze and many other issues Sorry, no! I am not going to install a whole new application only to launch programs - the most fundamental operation we could ask the OS to do). If the OS cannot launch programs, it needs to be investigated and fixed. The OP article does half of that very well! - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
> I tend to launch most programs on my Windows 10 laptop by typing the key, then a few letters of the program name, and then hitting enter. That's the mistake right there, use a proper app launcher (like https://keypirinha.com/) to avoid the freeze and many other issues (like having to move your focus off screen center) with this neglected core OS functionality. I _really_ recommend Keypirinha [1] for any sane use of Windows. This little tool has rocketed my productivity. [1]: https://keypirinha.com/. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Keypirinha is the best Windows launcher application out there in my opinion. https://keypirinha.com/. Source: over 1 year ago

DXtory (I use it to screenshot level scores when I play classic Doom mods) and Keypirinha to quickly open programs that I use often. Source: over 1 year ago
Cool, that still exists. Some years ago I was into all that desktop customization and tried this, LiteStep [0] and Blackbox/bb4win [1] but ended up with BlackBox. Nowadays, all the customization I need is a tool to fix the taskbar position that someone who probably uses a portrait mode monitor moved to the wrong spot [2] and a launcher [3] [0]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LiteStep [1]:... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Or get a proper keystroke launcher and live that clean, blank desktop life! Source: over 1 year ago
I shared the exact same sentiment when I transitioned to Windows after a long period of only using macOS. I eventually began building a launcher myself using C# and over time it has become my daily driver. Feel free to check it out at https://github.com/dkgv/pinpoint, PRs welcome :-) A few other nice candidates I found include: - Keypirinha: https://keypirinha.com/ - Wox: https://github.com/Wox-launcher/Wox -... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
As for my experience using it, I don't use it. I use a Keyboard Launcher for exploring my bookmarks; much much more convenient than using a dedicated bookmark manager. Its not visual, so it might not interest you. Yet, if you wanna try it out, I'd recommend Keypirinha (has a portable version): https://keypirinha.com/ . You can see how it works here: https://youtu.be/eSnoReaEYao. Source: almost 2 years ago
Because you're not using Keypirinha. Source: almost 2 years ago
It might work, but I'd consider it abandonware at this point. Keypirinha is IMO a suitable replacement that's still in active development. Source: almost 2 years ago
Everything + keypirinha does the job for me. Source: about 2 years ago
I switched from Launchy to Keypirinha as my launcher, and haven't looked back. I'd consider looking into the new Powertoys one though. Source: about 2 years ago
