Instead of going on whatever social media site to trauma dump and humiliate myself, I open a journaling app. A physical notebook works too, but I use an app that syncs across devices. Posting to that app from my mobile device or computer from wherever scratched that same "itch." I could attach pictures to my entries as well in order to spare my Insta followers. This is what I use. I use Journey because it's both an app and browser based, and it can be password/pin protected. If you look on the website, it seems like there's a lot going on, but it's a deceptively simple app. I've been using it for years and years. Source: over 2 years ago

I was lucky enough to start using journey.cloud four years ago, so I have a really good record of the entire situation leading up to my decision, with the added bonus of the memories feature (throwback entries from this time x years ago). I switched to Journey for quite some time now. Mostly because it is way cheaper, and also has a windows application. In addition it allows to export all entries (docx & pdf) and it can import from Day One.
