Jewelry auctions offer the cheapest priced gold around. Look online (invaluable.com) has local auctions and you can always get gold below the spot price. Beware the hammer price ≠ what you pay. There is usually a buyers fee + gst. Source: 10 months ago
You are fortunate! Suggest you ask one of the forums at collectspace.com. Also, search to see equivalent item auction prices. One site to do this is invaluable.com. Source: 12 months ago
Complete booklets will sell for around $10k according to invaluable.com. Individually they will do much less as they are not a set and there might be issues with verifying them. Source: about 1 year ago
It's definitely going to be hard to find something in that range in the EU. In the US we have constant individual sellers of guns, and it's pretty easy to buy/sell them in each state. From what I understand of EU laws, deactivated is the only kind you can easily get, and 95% of deactivated rifles are rifles that companies have bought, made look pretty (cleaned and polished), and generally run in the 500-1000... Maybe I'm an idiot, but it doesn't seem possible to scroll through items in the "listings in posh show" box. I might sit through a show if I knew I wanted something. I like the format on invaluable.com - you can see & bid on items before the live auction, then watch it if you're into that kind of thing. Source: over 1 year ago
Personally I use websites like invaluable.com to save books coming up for auction. while you need to be a "VIP member" to look through auction records, if you simply save a lot coming up for auction you will be able to reference its sale again in the future. start doing this now so you get a sense of what books you are interested in go for. From invaluable.com: This remarkable ornithology lithograph with hand-finished color is from the esteemed John Gould’s Birds of Asia published in London between 1850 and 1883. Birds of Asia featured some of the most vibrant varieties of birds to be found around the world due to the wide reaching natural fauna of the expansive geographical region. Source: about 2 years ago
You can read Antiques and the Arts Weekly online for free. It is nothing but a bunch of ads for auctions, along with articles about completed auctions with price reports. It is mostly oriented towards New England, but auction houses from other regions do advertise. Or you can just search a big online amalgamation site like invaluable.com and find auctions near you. I came across a bronze relief profile of everybody's loathed moustache that went for US$200 in 2020. It was invaluable.com. They have a heap of WWII memorabilia so their may be something even closer to your item there. But beware. Once you start looking, it's difficult to stop. Source: about 2 years ago
When I'm looking for old sales prices I often get directed to invaluable.com. I wouldn't use them as an auction platform but is it worth a paid subscription to access their archive of realized prices? The subscription rates range from $250, to access to results from the last 12 months, to $1995 for access to 15 years. I know some of the major auction houses have their archives available for free, but not all... Source: about 2 years ago
