  If you can get to the Metro North station before the last train, do so. The metro north trains are fine. The worst problem you might have are some loud drunk people headed home after a night out.   Yotel, Pod Hotels, the Jane, Freehand. In November in Manhattan you're looking at $250 per night. Maaayyybbe, $200. And there's all sorts of taxes. Also look at hoteltonight.com to get an idea of hotel prices and what you get for your money, though keep in mind this will change drastically according to time of year.
