  If you need help in the future, look up your game and then save file, gamefaqs.gamespot.com is generally the site you get them from, and use this: Save Converter to change the format, desmume always uses dsv files, and the most common is .sav or .duc so you can convert those to dsv there.   I don't know the answer to your question, but may I suggest using GameFAQs for a guide? One of my favorite parts of playing older games is going to GameFAQs for the old .txt walkthroughs. Really feels like a time warp. Source: almost 4 years ago
