  • Recommendation for an online will?
Rocketlawyer and zoom are no better than freewill.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I am currently dying and would like to set my wife up the best possible way
The estate attorney is the right way to go. In the meantime, go to freewill.com and write the most basic will you can making sure everything goes to your wife. That will protect her until you can get a proper one done but it's best to have something ASAP. If you can transfer all of your cash savings to your wife now that will save headache later. • What if I don't list anyone as a beneficiary for my accounts?
Below is an extract from freewill.com on what happens if you die without a will or beneficiaries set on any account. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I did not know that. Yikes.
You can do it for free online: https://freewill.com/. It will take maybe an hour. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Weekly Discussion Thread
Some friends of mine were in almost the same scenario and used freewill.com and said it was great. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Legal firm for very simple will
I made a will on freewill.com but got nervous about what the legal process would look like given how unofficial it all seems. A quick google search suggests that going through a lawyer would be a lot better for the executor. Is there a law office in the area that has reasonable charges for very simple wills? "Estate planning" seems like overkill given the low value of my assets and small number of... Source: over 1 year ago
  • cancer support
Have you taken a look at freewill.com? You can do a revokable trust there as well, I think it would cut out a lot of the lawyer fees since it's free. You maybe have to get it notarized, I'm not 100% sure because I still haven't finished mine. Source: over 1 year ago
  • [PA] How many witnesses do I need for a will?
The wills were created using freewill.com, which was actually recommended to them by the National Council on Aging. I assumed, perhaps erroneously, we could fully trust the recommendation. Source: over 1 year ago
  • I can't sleep!
In the time I have been awake I read a bunch of posts on reddit, wrote a lengthy email to my divorce attorney regarding some things I want to request from my ex, of course I did not send it yet because I don't want her to think I am crazy. I also managed to create my will, advanced directives, durable financial power of attorney and update my beneficiary pla on freewill.com which is a pretty neat website by the way. • Is my Dad eligible for Medicaid even tho he hasn't filed taxes in years?
Also, you and sibling need to get Durable financial and medical POA so that you can manage these financial things on his behalf. Ideally, you have a lawyer write it up. If that is not an option, you could print out a form from a website like http://freewill.com and he signs it in front of a notary (usually you can find one at the bank). Again, you should have a lawyer but a notarized print-out is like the minimum... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • moving money out of 401k
Then you definitely need Durable (valid when person is incapacitated; as well as when they’re not) POA asap. You’d be surprised how often we see “oh I don’t think he’s bad enough for us to get POA yet”. Naturally, when an emergency happens and POA is actually needed, it’s already too late to acquire it. You can go to http://freewill.com get a living will/advanced directive also. They do have a good guide that... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Wills, Trusts, Estates, etc
Maybe it would help to create a will yourself using freewill.com as recommended on this thread. All he would have to do is read and sign it. It would at least serve as a draft that he could react to. He might be stalling because it seems like too much work to create a will from scratch. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I'm getting myself a will tomorrow (not a suicide post)
I did it recently on freewill.com. Got tired of it nagging at me. Easy. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I want to set it up so that specific people get my money if I die
I want to set it up so that specific people get a percentage of the money that's in my Wells Fargo bank account if I die. I made a will with freewill.com, but I don't think that will work for cash in my accounts? Source: over 2 years ago
  • What the bloody hell is happening?
Something like this already exists - freewill.com I think. Source: almost 3 years ago
