  • Show HN: I made a tiny game that helps boost your memory
Thank you! There are just five levels: [2, 2], [3, 2], [4, 2], [4, 3], [5, 4]. I thought about making it longer or even endless, but I decided to make it much simpler because the game is for kids and the feeling of victory is important to them. That's why there are only 5 levels and confetti at the end. Sounds are taken from https://freesound.org. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • Show HN: Chimed โ€“ wind chimes in your Linux environments
Have you ever played a game or watched a TV show/movie where certain actions like button presses or other events produced different sounds? This is usually done for audience's benefit (more action on screen) or in a game, to enforce the game loop. I wondered if sound effects could be useful in a work environment, in my case `vim`, to influence my brain in a similar way a game loop does things, and make working... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago

  • where would be a good place to find fitting sound effects for this animation. could you also recommend sound effects becuase im new to sfx
Hey. A good source for free sound effects and sounds in general is the site freesound.org. Jsyk you will need a looot of sounds for this animation. Slashes, wooshes and hit sounds are some of the sounds you will need. Try typing the sound you think you need and maybe you will find something interesting. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Bass saxophone in a Refill?
There are several free orchestral sample libraries, but usually for some garbage player like Kontakt, and sax often doesn't get included, so if you need free and VST-less, then hunting on sites like freesound.org and similar might be your best bet. Source: over 2 years ago
  • How can I use Freesound.org safely for commercial use/monetization purposes ?
I'm about to make my first youtube content so I would like to know how to freesound.org safely for my youtube videos. Do I have to obtain permission from the owner? If so, how can I ensure that I can legally use their sounds for my videos? Source: over 2 years ago
  • Where to start finding sounds? AI generators?
Try https://freesound.org. They have a lot of public domain (CC0) and attribution-only (CC-BY 4.0) sounds. Splice still seems to be a good choice too. I'm not sure why you'd want an EDM-specific sample site; EDM isn't restricted to a particular kind of sample. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Where to start with finding game audio?
I'm currently creating an FPS project in Unity and have come to the point where I want to add in audio for all actions in the game (i.e. Reloading weapons, stowing, pulling weapons out, shooting, walking around, etc). I've looked at sites like freesound.org and opengameart but there just isn't the surplus that I'm looking for. How should I go about creating or finding audio to implement into my game? Are there... • Jornal Entry 4
That was a much more fun assignment than the app inventor bs. I chose to go with the podcast intro because Lucas said "podcast intro" and that's where my ideas went. The only issue I encountered was that my recordings would save as .M4As so I had to use a sketchy website to convert those to mp3s. For sound effects, I created a recording of my cat and my roommate's cat meowing and used that as their... Source: over 2 years ago
  • English Village Street Scene with VR & Sound Elements - Links & Workflow in comment
'It may be a bit on the longer side to load due to the scene's size, but it's worth the wait! The textures are sourced from Allegorithmic and Textures.com. For the normal and roughness maps, NormalMap-Online was utilized. To optimize the image textures without losing quality, Optimizilla was invaluable.
