Yes, you should absolutely not be using Google Analytics. They don't need more data, your users don't want to see cookie banners and most of you really don't need 99% of the data that you can filter through... I can't recommend Fathom (https://usefathom.com) enough. They have a huge focus on privacy-first tracking. You don't need to show a cookie banner and you can still track events etc. If you want $10 credit... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago

We've got inspired by https://usefathom.com/ and https://plausible.io/ - plus there is some negative sentiment with *some* smaller players about DocuSign. Source: about 2 years ago

Looks neat, as a startup building on supabase why should I use this over say https://usefathom.com or something similar? Am I correct in assuming this hooks direct into the database, and gets numbers from the tables, rather than like page impressions or UI added loggers or clicks? Would there be a usecase to use both together, or not really? Source: over 2 years ago
Fathom Analytics has some great content for inspiration, however its probably much cheaper to just pay for Fathom! Source: over 2 years ago
We recommend: Google Analytics or Fathom. GA is the most widely used analytics suite in the world, and comes with a host of robust features and actionable reports. Fathom is a strong GA alternative with a focus on user privacy and GDPR compliance. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
I have uptime monitors on all of my web properties - I get a handy text from Fathom any time a site goes down for more than 60 seconds. - Source: dev.to / over 2 years ago
But like Laravel Vapor is able to host something like Fathom, a Google Analytics competitor, my hope is that Ymir could be the platform that lets you host Kim Kardashian's ecommerce site. But there are a lot of pieces to the puzzle I need to work on before we get there. But I'm convinced this is a problem we'll be able to solve and I'll be happy to let you be able to do it for $39/month 🤣. Source: over 2 years ago
There’s also FathomAnalytics that runs a lot more since they’re a web analytics platform. Granted they run on Laravel Vapor and use all the bells and whistles, but it’s definitely scaling. Source: over 2 years ago
