Whatโs the utilization of the SSD when you download things? You can see it in task manager and it will just give a percentage from 0% - 100%. It could be that your download is slow purely because the SSD canโt write fast enough. What is the SSD too such as brand, capacity, etc. As some SSDโs are just fake. How old is it? In task manager, sort the processes by disk usage to see if something is hogging the drive. Also may be worth running a benchmark for the SSD to see if its even running as one would expect. You could use CrystalDiskMark to test out speed. Have in mind, that depending on your Operating System, SD-Card Slot, Connection Speed and Device, the results can vary. So, usually the ideal speed values displayed on the package are never really reached. (Not sure, but manufacturer measure speeds probably with high-end stuff. It could be - you are limited by the throughput of the USB port. USB 3.0 is pretty fast but theres a lot of variance with implementation so it may be limiting. HWinfo is a fantastic general system info software. GPUz or MSI Afterburner are good for GPU specific monitoring. Several things here. This might be because of the drive in your computer or because of the thumb drive speed (most likely). You can test your PC drive speed with CrystalDiskMark: https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/. Also, if you're using a common copy-paste, this might be because of a RAM buffer which is slower than copying directly to drive. You can try Robocopy with /J option (unbuffered). Bust... Thatโs a cheap SSD. It works fine, but itโs cheap. Still, I would check for drive health with this and/or do a quick benchmark with this. Sequential speeds should be high. Random will be slow.
