  • Sd card question
If you're concerned about the quality and reliability of the card you can run Crystal Disk Mark to give you a reliable score of how good it is: https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/. Source: 5 months ago
  • 3TB of Storage success
u/TheBigPete Favor to ask of you that would be tremendously appreciated! Can you do a clean restart and quit all background running applications? Once done, launch (install if need be), CrystalDiskMark (https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/) and run a standard speed test on your SN740. If you can attach a screenshot of the performance results, it'd be amazing! Source: 11 months ago
  • SSD drive download speed
What’s the utilization of the SSD when you download things? You can see it in task manager and it will just give a percentage from 0% - 100%. It could be that your download is slow purely because the SSD can’t write fast enough. What is the SSD too such as brand, capacity, etc. As some SSD’s are just fake. Just making sure that’s not the case! You can also check the Read/Write speed of the SSD using something like... Source: 11 months ago
  • Go Pro Hero 7 White keeps stopping recordings
Download Chrystaldiskmark and check the write speed, and then you'll have a better understanding of what's going on. Source: 11 months ago
  • Problem with modpack disk usage
How old is it? In task manager, sort the processes by disk usage to see if something is hogging the drive. Also may be worth running a benchmark for the SSD to see if its even running as one would expect. CrystalDiskMark is a good utility that is easy to use. https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/. Source: 12 months ago
  • G14 2023 RTX 4080 delivered
Can you do an SSD test (using CrystalDiskMark: https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/) on this model? I've just noticed that the RTX 4080 (and RTX 4090) models are advertised has having a "1TB PCIe® 4.0 NVMe™ M.2 Performance SSD", whereas the other models just say " 1TB PCIe® 4.0 NVMe™ M.2 SSD" etc. -. • How to test for fake sd card?
You could use CrystalDiskMark to test out speed. Have in mind, that depending on your Operating System, SD-Card Slot, Connection Speed and Device, the results can vary. So, usually the ideal speed values displayed on the package are never really reached. (Not sure, but manufacturer measure speeds probably with high-end stuff. But normal people use default devices daily). So, if the speed doesnt match the speed on... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Older laptop running Windows 10 Home, Disk usage at 100% or close to it
Here's a way to see that in action relative to the point you made. Grab a disk testing tool like CrystalDiskMark and run a benchmark on your disk. The test is designed to do two types of tests- a sequential read/write test as well as a random read/write test. A sequential read/write is more like a large file operation (ie copying a 4GB file from one disk to another) whereas a random read/write is more like loading... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Ableton CPU Overload
It could be - you are limited by the throughput of the USB port. USB 3.0 is pretty fast but theres a lot of variance with implementation so it may be limiting. You can use a tool like Crystal Disk Mark (https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/) to check how fast the transfer rate is. Source: about 1 year ago
  • 32 GB of Corsair Vengeance 3600 ram unstable XMP
HWinfo is a fantastic general system info software. GPUz or MSI Afterburner are good for GPU specific monitoring. AMD and NVidia have their own monitoring software as well (Adrenalin and GeForce Experience respectively). For system drives Crystal Disk Info and Crystal Disk Mark. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Sata SSD overheating! Help!
Use CrystalDiskMark to check the speeds on both and see which is fastest. One could be the CPU chipset and one the motherboard. If they're both the same then use the one you get the lowest temps on. 65c under load isn't too bad though, it's fine. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Computer becoming unresponsive
Or just go to the Crystal Disk Info site and download their drive checking software: Https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Home server networking advice and options
Crystal Disk Benchmark - This will tell you the real tested read/write speed of your storage media, without the network. Source: about 1 year ago
  • [SSD] Solidigm P41 Plus Series 2TB $99.99 (109.99 -10 Promo: SSCPA629)
After you install run crystaldiskmark. Source: about 1 year ago

In all seriousness now, I'd check the disk fist, you can download CrystalDiskMark and run a benchmark on it. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Game constantly struggling to run on HDD
Have you run Cyrstal disk mark on the drive yet to see what actual speeds your getting? https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • My SSD is underperforming on benchmarks but what does that mean?
I would suggest you try a different tool like CrystalDiskMark. Source: over 1 year ago
  • This has been stuck like this for 2 hours
Https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/ check the disk's speed(not while doing the repair of course ...) and then you just need a bit of math to figure out the expected time. Source: over 1 year ago
  • If a video takes a long time to transfer from a computer to a thumb drive is it computers fault or thumb drives fault?
Several things here. This might be because of the drive in your computer or because of the thumb drive speed (most likely). You can test your PC drive speed with CrystalDiskMark: https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/. Also, if you're using a common copy-paste, this might be because of a RAM buffer which is slower than copying directly to drive. You can try Robocopy with /J option (unbuffered). Bust... • Help Linus!
That’s a cheap SSD. It works fine, but it’s cheap. Still, I would check for drive health with this and/or do a quick benchmark with this. Sequential speeds should be high. Random will be slow. Do not expect much from. It. Like I said, it’s a cheap drive (which again, nothing wrong with that.. you’re just expecting way too much out of it). Source: over 1 year ago
  • My SSD becomes 100% while extracting, copying any file (speed throttles to 15MB/s and PC become laggy as hell)
Benchmark tool might be useful. Https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskmark/. Source: over 1 year ago
