Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing ZykoStudy and Codegres.org.

What makes your product unique?

ZykoStudy's answer

ZykoStudy turns your own notes into arcade games. Upload notes, slides, a PDF, or a YouTube link, and it generates practice questions from your material, then drops them into 21 real game modes: ZykoCross, Launch IQ, Kickoff Study, Quiz Rush, Crystal Descent, Archery Aim, Blackjack, and more. The questions are the controls. A right answer is what moves your car, sinks your shot, or unlocks your next crossing. Miss one and the AI tutor explains it on the spot, then your weak topics get turned into fresh practice. Same question set, over a dozen ways to play it, so it never goes stale.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

ZykoStudy's answer

Quizlet is flashcards. Kahoot and Gimkit are live, host-led, and need a classroom to work. ZykoStudy is solo-first arcade gameplay built on your own material, so you can study alone at 11pm and still want to keep going. Every question comes from what you uploaded, not a generic bank. Missed questions get instant AI explanations, your progress page breaks accuracy down by topic, and the platform generates new practice on exactly what you keep getting wrong. It runs in the browser, supports Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch Pro controllers, and includes live multiplayer races if you want to play against friends or a whole class.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

ZykoStudy's answer

Students who know how to study and just can't make themselves do it. The age range is very large. Middle schoolers prepping for review, high schoolers prepping for AP exams, the SAT, and finals, plus college students reviewing course material and anyone studying for a certification. Because you bring your own notes, it isn't locked to a subject list. The second audience is teachers, who create a class, share a code, assign study sets, and get assignment analytics and per-standard mastery reports.

What's the story behind your product?

ZykoStudy's answer

ZykoStudy was built by Kamran and Nathan, two students who found grinding flashcards miserable but could lose hours to a game without noticing. That gap was the whole idea. The problem was never that studying is hard. It's that nothing about it makes you want to come back. So they built the tool they actually wanted: upload your real class notes, get questions generated automatically, and play them as arcade games with XP, levels, and streaks. It started as a single prototype and grew into 21 game modes, an AI tutor, live multiplayer, and a full set of classroom tools.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

ZykoStudy's answer

Next.js and React on the front end, with Three.js powering the 3D game modes like Kickoff Study and Quiz Rush. Prisma with Neon Postgres for data, deployed on Vercel. Cloudinary for media, Resend for transactional email, and Stripe for payments.
