Zera Books is an accounting automation platform built for accountants, bookkeepers, and CPAs who are done with manual data entry. Upload a bank statement PDF from any bank and get clean, structured transaction data back in seconds. No templates to set up. No format training. It just works.

The platform handles four document types: bank statements, invoices, checks, and financial statements. It was trained on 3.2 million real financial documents, which gets it to 99.6 percent accuracy on extraction. If a single PDF has multiple accounts in it, Zera Books detects that and splits them automatically.

Once transactions are extracted, you can run AI categorization to map everything to your QuickBooks or Xero chart of accounts. You can also process 50 or more statements in a single batch, manage multiple bookkeeping clients from one dashboard, and export to Excel, CSV, QBO, or IIF.

Pricing is simple: 79 dollars a month, flat rate, unlimited conversions. No per-page fees, no volume caps. There is a one week trial with no credit card needed.

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Zera Books and Affinda Invoice Extractor.

What makes your product unique?

Zera Books's answer

Most tools in this space only handle one document type. Zera Books processes four: bank statements, invoices, checks, and financial statements. It was trained on 3.2 million real financial documents, so it hits 99.6 percent accuracy without any template setup. You upload a PDF from any bank and it just works. It also auto-detects when a single PDF contains multiple accounts and splits them into separate files. That alone saves hours of manual sorting. More at https://www.zerabooks.com

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Zera Books's answer

A few things stand out. Pricing is flat: 79 dollars a month for unlimited conversions. Most competitors charge per page or per document, which adds up fast if you process hundreds of statements a month. Zera Books also has a built-in AI categorization engine that maps transactions directly to your QuickBooks or Xero chart of accounts, so you skip the manual categorization step entirely. And the client management dashboard lets you organize work by client, which matters a lot if you handle bookkeeping for multiple businesses. Try it at https://www.zerabooks.com/auth

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Zera Books's answer

Accountants, bookkeepers, and CPAs who process bank statements for clients. If you spend hours each month manually keying transactions from PDFs into QuickBooks or Xero, Zera Books was built for you. Firms that handle multiple clients see the biggest benefit because of the batch processing and client dashboard. Learn more at https://www.zerabooks.com

What's the story behind your product?

Zera Books's answer

I started Zera Books in January 2025 after seeing how much time accountants were wasting on manual data entry. Every bookkeeper I talked to had the same problem: they were spending hours copying numbers from bank statement PDFs into their accounting software. The existing tools were either too expensive, required setting up templates for every bank, or just were not accurate enough. So I built something better. Zera Books was trained on over 3.2 million real financial documents from the start, so it works with any bank format right out of the box. No setup, no templates, no guessing. Check it out at https://www.zerabooks.com

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Zera Books's answer

The core document processing engine uses custom machine learning models trained on 3.2 million financial documents (2.8 million bank statements, 420 thousand invoices, and over 847 million transactions). The OCR layer handles scanned and image-based documents at 95+ percent accuracy. The web app is built with Next.js and runs on a cloud infrastructure. We integrate directly with the QuickBooks Online and Xero APIs for pushing categorized transactions. All data is encrypted with AES-256 and auto-deleted after 30 days. Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Zera Books's answer

We work with a mix of CPA firms and bookkeeping businesses. A few of the ones we can mention:

  • Manning Elliott LLP (one of the top CPA firms in Western Canada)
  • Zoom Books Bookkeeping (bookkeeping firm that processes hundreds of statements monthly)
  • Several solo practitioners and small accounting firms across the US and Canada

We have over 1,000 active users as of early 2025. Most are small to mid-size accounting firms. See what they say at https://www.zerabooks.com
