VanillaPM began with a frustration: the tools that truly teach project management are locked behind enterprise pricing, and the affordable ones teach you nothing. So one developer spent three months building the platform he wished existed — the full PMBOK 8th-edition lifecycle, charter to...

As answered by people managing Vim and VanillaPM.
VanillaPM's answer:
VanillaPM runs the entire PMBOK 8th-edition project lifecycle — Initiating through Closing — in one free platform, not just a task board. It combines predictive planning (WBS, critical-path Gantt, Earned Value) with adaptive delivery (sprints/Kanban), governed documents and risk registers, an ERM finance/HR/payroll suite for NGOs and multi-entity orgs, and a bring-your-own-key AI assistant that drafts charters and plans grounded in your real project data instead of hallucinating. It also ships a free Learn PMP course. Everything is genuinely free — no trial, no seat limits, no paywall.
VanillaPM's answer:
Tools like Asana, Monday and ClickUp are great task trackers but stop short of real project-management discipline, and their useful tiers are paywalled per seat. VanillaPM gives you enterprise-grade PM — Earned Value, a governed knowledge base, formal risk and assumption registers, full PMBOK-aligned lifecycle governance — for free, with no seat limits. If you're a PMP candidate, a student, an NGO or a small team that wants to run projects by the book without enterprise pricing, VanillaPM is built for exactly that.
VanillaPM's answer:
Project managers and PMP candidates who want a PMBOK-aligned tool to practise and work in; students learning project management; NGOs and donor-funded organisations that need finance, HR and payroll alongside project delivery; and freelancers and small teams who want serious PM capability without per-seat costs.
VanillaPM's answer:
VanillaPM was built solo by one developer as a mission project: to make disciplined, PMBOK-aligned project management — and the training to learn it — free for anyone, anywhere. It grew out of years of running projects across government, humanitarian aid and startups, where good PM tooling was either shallow or locked behind enterprise pricing. It's built in public and paired with a free Learn PMP course so people can both learn the craft and practise it in the same place.

Lua is quite small, encouraging distros to include it. The ubuntu gvim has, and the gvim AppImage linked from vim.org does. The default Makefile from github is set up to not include it, but you can uncomment one line there to get it. Source: over 3 years ago
I've not used vimwiki locally (tho I'm old enough to remember the Vim wiki on vim.org :), but I think what you are wanting to do is extend vimwiki's syntax file. I presume it installs one at $VIMRUNTIM/syntax or or ~/.vim/syntax. If... Source: almost 4 years ago
