As answered by people managing Vim and PicsFixKit.
PicsFixKit's answer:
Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript — no framework and no build step. All image processing uses the HTML Canvas API and toBlob. The site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages, with JSON-LD structured data and OpenGraph tags on every page.
PicsFixKit's answer:
Every tool runs fully inside your browser using the HTML Canvas API, so your images are never uploaded to a server. Most free image tools send your file to their servers first; PicsFixKit does the work on your own device. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no paid tier — five tools, all free.
PicsFixKit's answer:
Three reasons. Privacy: nothing is uploaded, so there is no question of where your photo is stored or for how long. No limits: no sign-up, no daily cap, no watermark and no paid plan. And five tools in one place — compress, resize, crop, convert and extract — instead of a different website for each job.
PicsFixKit's answer:
Two groups. Everyday users who hit a "file too large" limit on job portals, government forms, college applications and email attachments. And developers and designers who need lighter images for the web without installing software.
PicsFixKit's answer:
I kept hitting upload size limits, and I did not like sending personal photos to unknown websites just to make them smaller. Browsers can already do this work with the Canvas API, so I built a static site that does everything locally and put all five tools in one place. It went live on 14 September 2026.

Lua is quite small, encouraging distros to include it. The ubuntu gvim has, and the gvim AppImage linked from vim.org does. The default Makefile from github is set up to not include it, but you can uncomment one line there to get it. Source: over 3 years ago
I've not used vimwiki locally (tho I'm old enough to remember the Vim wiki on vim.org :), but I think what you are wanting to do is extend vimwiki's syntax file. I presume it installs one at $VIMRUNTIM/syntax or or ~/.vim/syntax. If... Source: almost 4 years ago
