Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Vim and Holacrafts.

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Holacrafts's answer:

Professionals, small teams and independent businesses that need a flexible, secure Space to organize their work, manage information and collaborate with clients or partners - without giving up control of their data.

What makes your product unique?

Holacrafts's answer:

Holacrafts gives you a flexible digital Space that you can structure around what you actually need - a client, project, deal, company, personal records, or something entirely your own. Information, files, communication and workflows stay connected in one place, while end-to-end encryption and user-controlled access keep you in control of your Space.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Holacrafts's answer:

Most tools make you adapt your work to their structure. Holacrafts lets you structure your Space around the way you work. Keep information, files, communication and workflows together, share only what you choose, and stay in control of your data.

What's the story behind your product?

Holacrafts's answer:

Holacrafts started with a simple idea: your digital space should belong to you. Work and personal information are increasingly scattered across tools that define how you organize, communicate and share. We wanted to build the opposite - one secure, flexible Space that you can shape around your own needs, while staying in control of your data, your access and the way you work.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Holacrafts's answer:

Holacrafts is built with React Native and TypeScript as a cross-platform application for iOS, Android. Its architecture is local-first and uses client-side end-to-end encryption: protected content is encrypted on the user’s device before synchronization, while Holacrafts servers store and transfer encrypted data together with only the service metadata required to operate the platform. The system uses separate backend services for synchronization, messaging, sharing and web access, while cryptographic keys and decryption of protected content remain on the client side.

  • regular Vim has lua?!
Lua is quite small, encouraging distros to include it. The ubuntu gvim has, and the gvim AppImage linked from vim.org does. The default Makefile from github is set up to not include it, but you can uncomment one line there to get it. Source: over 3 years ago
