In an age where AI makes building products easy, distribution has become the only true moat. Yet, most founders and creators are optimizing for the wrong future. Everyone is doing traditional "SEO" for Google, but user behavior is shifting rapidly. People are asking ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity for answers and recommendations instead of scrolling through listicles.

The Problem: Your website might have perfect traditional SEO scores, but if it relies on client-side rendering or lacks the right structure, it is completely invisible to modern AI crawlers. You are missing out on the next generation of organic traffic.

The Solution: Potatometer Potatometer is the first website analysis tool that combines traditional SEO with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization). We score your website using a fun, highly shareable potato metaphorโ€”ranging from a "Raw Potato" (needs serious work) to a "Loaded Baked Potato" (perfectly optimized).

Why Potatometer is Unique:

First to Combine SEO + GEO: We check if your site is discoverable by BOTH Google and major AI models.

32 Comprehensive, Verified Checks: We analyze technical SEO, on-page optimization, AI crawlability, structured data, and content depth.

Actionable, Code-Level Fixes: No more vague advice like "improve mobile responsiveness." We give you prioritized, step-by-step instructions with code examples and time estimates.

Zero Fake Data: We refuse to use seeded scores or vanity metrics. Every point reflects real, deterministic data.

Critical Failure Detection: Instantly identify deal-breakers (like CSR blocking bots or missing HTTPS) that cap your visibility.

Whether you're a solo founder struggling with organic acquisition, a content creator wanting AI visibility, or an agency future-proofing clients, Potatometer gives you the exact roadmap to ensure you aren't invisible to your future customers.

Stop guessing if AI can see you. Find out your potato score today!

Questions & Answers

As answered by people managing Vim Python IDE and Potatometer.

What makes your product unique?

Potatometer's answer:

In an age where AI makes building products easy, distribution is the only moat. Yet, founders are optimizing for the wrong future. They are optimizing for 2020's Google search, while user behavior has shifted to asking ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. If an AI crawler sees a blank page because of client-side rendering or poor structure, you are invisible to your future customers. Potatometer solves this by testing if your site is discoverable by BOTH traditional search engines and modern AI systems.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Potatometer's answer:

Existing tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush are expensive ($99+), provide vague advice, and entirely ignore AI discoverability. Potatometer is unique because:

First-mover in GEO: We check both SEO and Generative Engine Optimization.

Actionable, not vague: We don't just say "improve mobile." We provide step-by-step code fixes prioritized by impact.

Zero fake data: Every score reflects real, verified data. We refuse to use seeded scores or fake review data.

High virality: We turned a boring, technical topic into a fun, shareable "potato score" (from raw potato to loaded baked potato).

How would you describe the primary audience of your product?

Potatometer's answer:

Solo founders struggling with organic user acquisition.

Content creators who want their work cited by AI platforms.

Developers building side projects who need distribution.

Small businesses with limited marketing budgets.

SEO agencies looking for white-label AI optimization tools.

What's the story behind your product?

Potatometer's answer:

As a solo founder who has launched multiple apps, I kept hitting the exact same wall: organic user acquisition. AI has made building products incredibly easy, but getting users is harder than ever. I tried traditional SEO, but it was slow. I looked at my own behavior and realized I wasn't Googling things anymoreโ€”I was asking ChatGPT and Claude.

I tested my own "perfectly SEO-optimized" React sites and realized they were completely invisible to AI crawlers. I had schema issues, no llms.txt file, and client-side rendering blocked AI bots. I was optimized for yesterday.

I built Potatometer because I needed a tool that honestly told me if I was visible to BOTH Google and AI systems. I used the potato metaphor to make a highly technical, intimidating topic fun and shareable. I explicitly refused to use fake data or vanity metricsโ€”every one of our 32 checks is real and verified. If you want to know if you're a raw potato or a perfectly loaded baked potato in the eyes of AI, this is the tool for you.

Which are the primary technologies used for building your product?

Potatometer's answer:

Frontend: React, Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS

Backend: Supabase Edge Functions

Analysis: Rule-based scoring (Free) and LLM-powered analysis (Premium)

Deployment: Lovable.dev

Who are some of the biggest customers of your product?

Potatometer's answer:

Currently I have new startup founders using the tool.
